Is my tether still safe to use?

I accidentally left my tether that came with my jx3 with a ropeman 1 on it on a buddies land on 12/2/19. My buddy is going to get it this next weekend and mail it to me so I haven't seen it yet. I don't know much about ropes but with this rope being my literal lifeline should I go ahead and replace it and the ropeman even if there is zero visible damage to the rope?

I dont have one so no idea how they are made but I would be more concerned about the ropeman being out in the weather than the rope. If skwerls didnt chew it, the rope is probably fine.

This is one of the great drivers for me to be a mobile hunter, be it climber or saddle. It's gotten to the point you just can't leave anything out or it will disappear. I want to be able to take everything in and out with me regardless of whether I'm on private or public.

Get new rope and go on line and see if there is any place the can check out the Ropeman to make sure it is ok. Maybe REI can do it

Sucks someone stole it.

As far as the rope if it was still there I would have inspected it and still used it. I keep my HSS safetylines out for 5-6 months per year on some preset treestands and many of them I have had for years. They still look and function like new.

The sad thing is whoever stole it probably doesn't even know what they stole.
That's the thing that confuses me tbh. I'm a manager of a hotel in north Mississippi and when I bring up saddle hunting, 90% of the hunters I talk to either don't know what it is or isn't interested in it. Where I was hunting I'm willing to bet you my paycheck that none of them even know what saddle hunting is. They are much much older generation "back in my day" type folks. I don't understand why they climbed up the tree and stole my tether with ropeman on it and left my strap that I used to hold my gear and left the screw in steps. Truthfully I had convinced myself that I had misplaced my tether even though I was 99% sure I left it in the tree until my buddy climbed up in his 2 man box house about 100 yards away and found a pair of sunglasses and toboggan that does not belong to any of us. But another odd twist is in the food plot that the 2 man box house is in, there was a deer cart easily seen from the box stand and there was a stealth cam watching that field that was not stolen (unfortunately my friends brother pulled the card out of the cam and forgot to put another one in).

Sucks man! Maybe they did know what it was and hang from it (at 60') and hit the ground lol

But as far as the rope goes, I'm confident that it was still solid and good to go based on when I took rope rescue class our instructor who also does testing on ropes used one of his already old ropes to make a rug that was placed at the door of the firehouse and after 5 years of abuse he took it apart and it still tested at spec rating. Obviously I was not able to witness all this but he was pretty much a straight fact, no BS kinda guy and I absolutely believe him. His was pmi 11 mm
