Or anything relying on friction between a rope and a treeTrees covered in solid ice really put a poo into the pool party for onesticking or any aider dependent climbing form.

This is exactly where I’m at with it. I just sold one setup but still have my other clunker. It’s a modified muddy pro with an EWO LP on top and EWO ULS on the bottom. It’s 4.4 lbs and bulky but it’s a tank in the tree with a 3 step Ultimaider and it’s fun to hunt from. Three moves and I’m happy. I haven’t one sticked at all this season though using 4 tethrd one sticks and a three step EWO continuous loop aider on my first stick. I’m routinely at 18-21 ft.I think the buzz has died down a bit. I invested heavily into one-sticking 2 years ago and saw some advantages, but when Tethrd released 1 lb climbing sticks, that pack tightly together, I went back to sticks. With 4 Tethrd sticks I can get into more trees, faster, with less effort. I use a 3 step aider on the first step and get to 20 feet in about 5 minutes.
Sold the One Sticking setup for a big loss.
I’d really like to try one sticking with a cut down Tethrd one stick. A stack of them is too bulky and too many things to pack up on the way down or at bottom of tree. Giving up the cam cleat would be a big loss but I bet I could 3d print a part to mount a harken on there.
When climbing I get up two step then advance tether, take two more steps and advance. So my bridge sometimes grabs on a step. The folding steps on the hawks(and probably skeletors) is a big help there.
Nope, not the only one. Having a srt and 2tc system is the way to goAm I the ONLY ONE still wanting to SRT? That’s the one I want to do! Still doing the boring ole 1 stick thing. I have modified some things and got rid of the mechanical ascenders……but I want to climb big knarly trees!
I hunted off a Tethrd one stick for a week on a trip after I lent my EWO scout stick to a buddy. I just used the standard cleat and it was doable though a bit of a pain compared to the cam cleat, but man it was nice carrying around. I hunted off of it and added 3 squirrel steps and it was fine for shorter sits.I’d really like to try one sticking with a cut down Tethrd one stick. That's what I do too. SRT when it's applicable, 2tc the rest.Nope, not the only one. Having a srt and 2tc system is the way to go
I guess I don’t have foot problems, I did 6.5 hours on my Hawk stick a couple weeks ago and didn’t have any discomfort. I had my platform hanging on pack next to me just didn’t feel like setting it. It was raining a fine mist, then wind changed directions, then fog rolled in and I wasn’t sure how long I’d stick around… a bad hangover left me too lazy to climb down and go home so I stayed to sunset. I found I moved around less too, not sure if it was the stick or the hangover.I hunted off a Tethrd one stick for a week on a trip after I lent my EWO scout stick to a buddy. I can not fathom how you pulled that off. Think I would rather be waterboarded for a honey hole.I guess I don’t have foot problems, I did 6.5 hours on my Hawk stick a couple weeks ago and didn’t have any discomfort. I’m remembering now that that’s the one I had to go way up to see and ran out of length on my pull up rope, so my rifle was dangling for the last 6 feet or so of the climb. So once I got to height and pulled the rifle up I didn’t feel like going a step higher with the platform(beech tree had another branch to get around to move my tether higher too).I can not fathom how you pulled that off.
