Has anyone used this device, instead of a Madrock or other similar rappel devices?

Still exists https://www.petzl.com/INT/en/Sport/Belay-Devices-And-Descenders/STOPYears ago Petzl had a device that was almost identical called the Stop. I had one and used it a good bit just for rappelling. It was nice because you simply let go to stop. You had some control on the descent by how much you feathered the handle down.
This device is pretty much the same so I imagine the rappel would be similar. It’s just bulky. Progress capture should be possible if you were wanting to use it during the climb but there would certainly be a greatly increased chance of banging it against things due to size.
@elk yinzerHow is it even legal to sell these garbage knockoffs. The whole store is just knockoff petzl products.
Maybe the Petzl STOP they ripped off, if that design is of interest to you? Heck they're probably made in the same factory but I don't participate in that economy. Seeing stuff like this makes me want to burn my Amazon accounts.@elk yinzer
If it's garbage, what do you recommend?
The mechanics of the Stop look the same as the madrock too, just on a bigger scale.why not just go with the madrock? i dont know why so many people want to be different.....just get a madrock or gri gri +
