Its official!

I hear ya! In hawaii we are state police, game warden, and deputized federal agents. We do everything. I got lucky and put on special ops to so my job is never boring and I'm making a good chunk of change compared to my state biologist job. Best part I get to spend my work time looking for poachers and following deer movements or flying around ripping out plants. Never a dull moment!
Jesus Christ. It’s Jason Bourne! With a bow! You’re like the hulk (scientist/ biologist) and that other guy with the bow that got run over by his snow plow.

Speaking of good chunks of change. Now you start a guide service for out of state (that’s everyone else on this forum) saddle hunters and we fly there for vacation and you take us saddle hunting like a local guide. I’ll take five percent for the idea.

Let’s call it “Big Island Bow Hunters”. Although “Flyin Hawaiian”guided hunts sounds nice as well. Let me know when you’re ready for your first customer. I’ll be there.

Technically

None....if you get a permit, homeowners may trap and remove wild chickens on their own property so long as they adhere to local animal cruelty laws. Can shoot em but just gotta make sure you don't shoot your neighbor's cat....
How many friends you got with chicken problems? Askin for myself :)

Congrats! Federal? Where’d you train?
We are deputized noaa Ole and us fish and wild life agents since outer islands don't have any. We handle the cases and do the investigations then forward them to the main office for either prosecution via state or federal based on the charge. Sometimes the state has a higher penalty so we'll go that route instead.

I used to know a NOAA warden who worked in Alaska, on marine mammal protection. He had some interesting stories on that, between poachers and Native Alaskans engaged in traditional use. Do you have a similar dynamic in HI?

This is great stuff! Congratulations brother! Well deserved and I hope it serves you well!!
You delivered your kid? Talk about freaking amazing! Wow! Hat tip to you brother, cannot top that one!

Yes and no... native Hawaiians have more gathering rights then state residents but not as much as native Alaskans.

Mahaloz! Yeah it was a trip. Wife had a 3 hour labor and we delivered him in our shower. He was born in the sack and all!

Whoah! That's intense!

My dad was a dairy farmer and would tease my mom that there was no need for a midwife for the 5 of us kids; he had delivered plenty of calves and we could use money for things other than doctors. Needless to say, Mom was not having it, and especially didn't like being compared to a heifer.

Until she went into labor with my eldest sister, and the ambulance crew showed up just as Dad was delivering her on the living room floor. Still one of his favorite stories.
