It's tough where I hunt

Yep. Beautiful snakes and quite docile. They’re yet another casualty of baiting.

Bait to attract deer. Bait attracts vermin. Vermin attracts snakes. Word gets out “snakes are bad this year”. Nancies get rattled (pun intended) and walk to their stand near their bait pile on edge and looking for snakes. Snake gets blasted.

Vicious cycle.

I drove up to this one in the river bottoms close to my parking spot on my second hunt of the year. Yikes!

I walked up on another one 20 minutes later.

They move in late September here. My dad texted "Have fun walking out!" LOL!

Nice! I'm hope that Rattley Snake isn't eating your corn! At least they give you a warning, unlike the nasty Moccasins I deal with.

They just move around that time of year. Not sure if they eat corn! LoL! We have a lot of cottonmouths too. You right! They nasty!

We see them here pretty often but it’s usually in the spring & warmers months. I usually just let um be if I can. I did have to shoot one last year that was hanging out around my grandmothers house & eventually got into her garage. She’s elderly, has pets, & babysits a few of the neighbors kids during the week so that one had to go.

We see em every now and then in the Ozark National Forest during September. Not as much as the warmer summer months. Copperheads are thick though!
