I have some Jim steps and enjoyed using them this past season but I’m curious, are the wild edge ropes the same material ? Seems the ropes on the Jim steps are kinda noise and was wondering if the wild edge step ropes are better or would be an upgrade to my Jim steps. Just looking for some opinions. Fire away

I haven't used the originals but the stock ones now are kind of noisy. I like the rigidity of them though. It makes loosening the loop easier. I would give amsteel a shot though. Seems quieter, less bulky and more static. I've read lots of positive reviews on it.

I purchased my stepps used but they were Wild Edge Stepps. The original ropes that came on my stepps seemed petrified, stiff and didn't want to work well. I replaced the ropes with new WE ropes and I'm real happy with them. Good ropes, softer, quieter and easy to use. I think that you'll be happy with the WE ropes too.

Thanks I appreciate it fellas. I’m probably gonna get some Amsteel as well as some new wild edge rope and see which one works better for me. I love amsteel as most of us do, so I may be leaning that way a little more.

Since you're comparing ropes, PM me your info and I'll send you some Notch Dryad. It is like a cross between AmSteel and WE rope.

Thanks DanO I appreciate that, shoot me your PayPal info and I can send something for shipping.

I would like to hear a review on that notch dryad rope from DanO one you get a change to mess with it.

Got the dryad in and spliced on. I like it, and it’s way quieter than the original Jim step rope by a long shot. It’s not as stiff as the original rope but that doesn’t bother me at all. Even though I pre stretch the original ropes I felt like they never really stopped stretching. I left them on a good size oak tree for like 3/4 days tightening them each day. If this dryad stretches I can’t imagine much. I will trying out amsteel as well as others have done just to compare.

DanO thanks again for the suggestion and I will be getting up with you to order some dryad or amsteel.
