Well just got my taticsaddle in the mail today. Took about two weeks from the time I placed an order until it came in the mail. I’ll be the first to say that I am new to saddle hunting and will be doing it exclusively for the first time this year. I’ve been waiting for this market to blow up like it has since the end of Trophyline because now people have options and can get into this style of hunting. I dove head in with a mantis saddle and all the fixn’s except for the predator platform. I love Tethrd/G2 Outdoors and what they have done if it wasn’t for them I would never of bought a saddle because I didn’t know of this site or any other saddle companies. I hunted out of the mantis during turkey season but just couldn’t get it to stop from riding up my backside. The leg straps dug in my crotch so much and hindered me from climbing I ended up cutting them off and adjusting the micro fit adjusters all the way up and kept my tether low to prevent this. I didn’t want to give it up because of how light it was. I eventually went to Dan O’s site and bought his D hooks to make a Wraptor sling in hopes to have a back up and something maybe a little more comfortable. It’s nice but I’m no seamstress and didn’t trust my abilities at 20’ up. But when I configured the straps so that they only supported my back and under my butt did I feel a better level of comfort and it didn’t slide up anymore. So I figured I was good to go into this hunting season until I saw the video that got severely bashed on this site about the tactisaddle. Frankly I was disappointed to see this reaction especially from people who claimed to of never watched the whole video or even tried it out. So let me clear the air but first say I do not know John Tucker only spoke to him once on the phone and I am not doing this on anyone’s behalf except those thinking of getting one. This will defiantly be the saddle I will be hunting out of from now on and will buy another in the future for a back up. As he states in his video there is NO binding NO discomfort and most importantly it stays in its place and doesn’t ride up an inch. I don’t know what else to say other than in my opinion he has done it for me and light weight saddle hunting. I can wear the legs straps and walk freely to and up my tree and then adjust the bottom strap under my butt and sit comfortably with only a 14” bridge. It is WELL made with heavy duty stitching and webbing. I feel very confident wearing this because of how professionally made it looks. I want to end by saying let’s not rush into judging something until it has been tried by you personally and keep an open mind in this quickly growing style of hunting. Again this is just my opinion and am I in no way saying that one company it better than another. I think it is great for us to finally have different companies with different products. Thank you, It is nice to hear from someone who has sat in the saddle rather than just bashed it having never seen one.
Please keep us up-dated on the comfort and if your opinion changes during the upcoming season.

My initial though seeing the pictures was how it looked like it would not ride up. Can you explain the reasons you think it stays in place so well.

Most folks weren’t bashing the saddle, they were bashing the fellow who knew nothing about saddles acting like he did.

I really don’t think it got that carried away, but it clearly has struck some nerves.

I think Mr. John would be doing himself a big favor by getting a few saddles in the hands of some of the folks who have been hunting in saddles a long time on here - they can give some informative feedback for all of us.

I think the saddle is half an Anderson sling or a sit drag with the ability to adjust the distance between the two straps. I think like every other minimal saddle, some folks will be able to dial it in fine to hunt from, and some folks won’t.

Useful reviews will not be someone saying ‘it works for me’. It will be ‘I’m this tall, weigh this much, I got this size, I wear it this way, on this platform, with this tether height, and this bridge length, and these are the results I’m seeing.’ Enough of those hit the deck, and he’ll be wishing he never agreed to sell them.

The reason is because there is no fabric between the two straps allowing your butt to protrude further out putting more weight on the bottom strap and you can adjust it up or down until it feels comfortable to you. No other saddle has that as an option which is HUGE! The fabric on the other saddles would always create friction on the clothes on my butt making it ride up. Also I can keep the waist strap above my hips where I would wear my belt allowing me to add weight to it with falling down or having to adjust it at hunting height. It’s almost like wearing a back band which is why it is so comfortable. Also please excuse any misspelling or grammar problems I was so excited to get this info out I did it all on my I phone.

ImThere....I will keep the mantis as a back up for now.

Kyler1945....there was definitely bashing and you must not of payed too much attention to what was said initially and that was “I was told to start making these by OTHER saddle hunters who found it to be a great saddle.”

No one is disputing this. But you have to think about how it looks to a forum dedicated to saddle hunting to have never heard of Mr John, and none of those saddle hunters who told him to sell it have ever heard of the site. That’s not hard to imagine, but you can see how it may make folks skeptics. Then you get a guy who clearly has no clue about saddles to pitch it, you’re only going to increase the skepticism.

As far as the handful of folks who don’t have a clue about saddles and ‘bashed’ it’s usefulness, well, you’re going to have dumb jerks in every circumstance. We’re human.

The answer is not to passively aggressively reference it and worry about it. The answer is put the pudding on the table.

I for one am very interested, and got to listen in on a very long conversation with mr John about his saddle. So if you’re feeling generous, why don’t you give us a more detailed breakdown of your hunting style, equipment choices, body type, and how you think the saddle works for you? We love pictures and videos!

Im with @kyler1945 . The more details we can get the less people jump to conclusions. We're detail oriented, analytical peoples. Give us details or were going to make conclusions based on our experiences ND how we read the few details we have. There are people here with a ton of real experience, and knowledge. There are some people here who are/have hunted out of some saddles those who are new to them game have probably never heard of, or touched. I value there opinion- we all should.

A few questions who's answers may help some folks out:

What type of platform do you prefer with the tactisaddle, and why?

Which bridge length did you choose, and why?

What tether height hook up do you prefer with the tactisaddle?

How many hours have you sat in it so far?

Do you think you could make a daylight to dark sit in it comfortably enough?

@PAhunter78 have you had a chance to get some time with the tactisaddle to offer your perspective on these questions? I know there are a lot of guys interested in the saddle.

The short 14” bridge and chest high hook was the deal sealer for me, makes shooting a 62” stickbow easy even from a ring of steps especially on the week side shot

More seat and leg adjustment than mantis

Mine was the ultra light version, nylon buckle and thin belt material total weight 17oz

Could I set in it all day, yep

The belt floats so when move for an extreme twist I do not get the pitch effect like the mantis gave me, by looking at it you would think it would be stuck in your crack simply not the case, u can fine tune that rump strap, is it flex comfort prob not, but it’s more comfortable than the mantis I had

It’s built rock solid, easier to put one no fighting the legs straps
