Joined the Club - Modified Sit Drag

I can't speak for IkemanTX, but I used heavy duty nylon thread on mine. The brown stitching is some stuff I found on Amazon. The black stitching is Mara70 thread, bought from Dutchware gear. I'm using a standard ITX military buckle on mine.

Would a sit drag paired with a climbing harness be safe and comfortable. Is the sown in belt nessacary¿ lastly, does The sit drag come with the bridge and teather.
I have climbed a tree with the sit drag as is right out of the package, it can be done, but the mods are the best way to go IMO.

What RC harness are you thinking of getting? I'm in the same boat. I was going to make something while I wait for my mantis.
I absolutely love my Mad Rock. if there is a lighter/better one out there for the money I want to know about it!

I did hang completely upside down from my sit drag the other day at ground level. Ikeman is correct in that it would be very difficualt to fall out of it even with no RC harness. I even trying wiggling around and put legs together but still couldnt get the Sit Drag to budge much as so much pressure is on your hips , the Sit Drag basically is acting like a giant prussic knot in that it wont loosen up until you take tension off it. Pretty cool. I'll still probably wear my RC harness with it but if you are comfortable with it , sure seems safe without one.

Spent my first hunt in the full set up. Sit Drag, RCH, pack and gear hangers.

Lessons learned:
- the RCH with webbing mod for lineman’s belt is uncomfortable. Was happy to shift to Sit Drag when I was done climbing.
- bring two pull up lines. Pack & xbow were pretty heavy for just 550 cord.
- invest in a better folding saw. Left my big one at home and the small one was a pain. This hunt was on property I recently got permission to hunt. Tree needed some prep work.

Saw four does about 170 yards away, but no action in range. Sit was pretty comfortable.

Almost forgot - here’s a pic of everything packed up!

Hill People Gear Recon Kit Bag and Umlindi pack with Aston panel.

The kit bag is a chest bag - xbow cocking rope, aider, knaider, gear and pack hangers, notebook, tourniquet, range finder, Swiss Army knife, and a monocular (I was comparing it to some binos)

Umlindi pack had a polartec fleece top (if I got cold), pee bottle, hydration bladder, snack, first aid kit, ESEE PR4 knife, pull up rope, field wipes, ziplocks, tp, gloves, RCH, Sit Drag, and eight Stepps under the panel.
