I am sure someone is using this method to 2T/C but, I just wanted to thank John for his work. Since I have incorporated his JRB cinch on both tethers I can climb much easier. Tether advancements are quick set the main tether high using a collapsing walking stick, I can get my main line 11 to 12 feet from the start. Then just move my second tether as I climb keeping line slack out of main line. Once I reach the top main ,advance with the pole and start climbing. I can get nearly 20 plus feet with only two moves of the main tether. Using the JRB has made me more efficient in 2T/C climbing. The JRB cinch is so easy to advance the second tether it's crazy. Using the pole to set my main line two or three times is faster than moving both as you climb. Just wanted to see if anyone else is using the JRB cinch this way. The repelling ring with a caribinner as a toggle has made me a believer in 2T/C!

Which JRB cinch ae you referring too? The quick evolution of JRB's stuff has left me in the dust on most of it

Interesting approach. I'm guessing veteran 2TC'ers will object to bringing a pole in the woods. I like the idea.

Question for you. Do you 2TC down, or use a long top tether and rappel down?

Looks interesting. this concept is something I want to explore this off season, I think @Seekbigger better tether attachment method may be what I lean to, but this has merit for sure.

No, honestly its too much metal for me. A simple Maverick hitch does the same job lighter and quieter.
Seekbigger's hitch too is metal free. I use both.

I would think you would use that rope to repel down. I would think nyou could get away with using a scaffold knot on the ring. just a thought

I reppel down.

Sounds like some mechanical is required to make it easy to advance
What do you use to attach to top tether ?

Cool hitch but I rappel down retrieve my tether with my gear pull up rope.and feel much safer with a repelling ring and binner attached as a main line.

I use this hitch with my rappel line as well and have no trouble retrieving my rope when descended! I encourage everyone to use what they like and are comfortable with!
I didn't think you could retrieve it thats cool that you can. Do you have a video? I would like to see it if so.
Thank you.
