Keeping carabiner in place while climbing with rappel line

That's a really good idea, I don't know why I never thought of that. At height you could remove the loop and go straight to the line, to facilitate retreival.

I don't think I have any pictures, but I have a bungee ball on my mainline I loop through my delta link or quick link. Snug enough to prevent slipping but enough play in it to advance as I climb.

Other ideas:

nailed it. Tried it on my Oplux and 9mm C-IV and fits like a glove. First sketch worked but it wasn’t quite as tight on the Oplux as I wanted. And it was a little skinny, second sketch gives me a chubby… er… what?

That's a clean looking set up. Could your clarify what all you got there? Thanks
Just 8mm Oplux with sewn eye, Petzl P11 delta, and my own tether locker. Anybody with a 3D printer that doesn’t feel like drawing one up I can share the STL file

I'm a fan of the fender washer. I use 2 on my line and they work great.
This^^^ I glued two together and finally got rid of that little clip on the end of ANOTHER PIECE OF CORD on my tether. I’ve used a gear tie too….go get fender washers!

Does the fender washer pull through a quick link fairly easily on retrieval/pull down?

Usually a delta or quick link is opened up, but yeah, it’ll go through it if you want it to. I just put a third on my tether, they are glued together to make them stiffer.

I meant when trying to break it loose from the ground. If you have went around branches for example.

Unsure how well it would be on a repel line, but on my tether, I did a weave around my line to act as a stopper. Slides with some restriction.
Ok, that makes sense. I was thinking of it from a rappel line aspect. Kind of had blinders on thinking of how it would work with my system.

I see said the blind man……uh probably not is my answer.
A delta link’s open area is smaller than a carabiner which I use for my rappel line. I don’t have any type of “keeper” on my rappel line. Once I load it, I’m on it and stay on it until I’m on the ground.
If I used a fender washer to keep my delta link snug and it Is also my rappel and hunting tether, I’d pull the washer way down to my bridge or as far away from the link as I could get it. before descending…..hope that makes sense.

Makes sense, I hang on my rappel line and was thinking it might work better than what I am using.

I girth hitch a shock cord loop on the carabiner. Once I put the rope in the carabiner, I slide the open part of the loop over the carabiner and close it. It holds it in place and I can pull it down pretty easily.

This is the best method i have tried yet.
