Kestrel Flex & Tethrd Mantis

Very fair and unbiased review. I agree with your findings 100%.
I had a Mantis and it didn't fit my needs but I prolly didn't give it the time you talked about to fine tune it to me. Your advice on that
is spot on.
Also, I had the predator and your comments on that are spot on also. It is a great product. The only thing I would like to see in that
is a slightly larger platform. I am using the LW hand climber for a platform(with extra strap to secure it), which is about 4 inches larger(wider) and that little bit of size difference makes a huge difference in comfort and ability to maneuver as far as standing on it especially with back to tree..
Not that there's anything wrong with the size as is but that would be on my wish list of an additional option for the Predator.
Maybe Tethrd will come out with a slightly larger version of the Predator - I would buy that, but thats just my opinion....

Very refreshing to see an unbiased review. It seems most folks are so brand driven and brand loyal they can't be unbiased. To me what's most important in a review is presenting the facts and let each one decide what is best for them.

@Sequoia, perhaps you stated this somewhere already (so if I missed it, my apologies), but what are you measurements (height, weight, waist size) and what size flex and mantis did you get?

Thanks! I have a medium mantis but may grab a flex at some point. I'm 5'11", 185, 34" waist.

My first saddle was the standard kestrel and a size 2 was much better than a size 1. I know the flex is supposed to help for those who were somewhat in between the sizes.

Do you think the size 1 flex would comfortably work?
 
@DC10 , the Size 1 Flex works great for me. By far the most comfortable saddle I've tried. The Size 1 should be ok for you unless you plan to bulk up with a lot of late season warming layers. Aerohunter lists size 26"-36" waist for a Size 1 and 37"-46" as a Size 2.

We're both on the mid to upper range of that Size 1 window so I'm guessing that either could work. That being said I love my Size 1 and think it fits me perfectly.
