Kettlebell Mile Challenge

Lemmings. Pray that @Nutterbuster doesn't introduce you to the cinnamon challenge, Tide Pod challenge, or the Chubby bunny. Might get me to watch some YT content on a channel by a guy named Nick, though. He should start every YT video with the greeting "Hi, y'all, my nickname is Nick, AKA bust-a-nut, but you can call me Nick".

Well, bought a 20 and a 10 pounder. Going for it with 20 to start. Weigh in at 217, which is slightly less than I guessed.

Going to go try it now. It's low 80s. Sunny. Probably won't pass out or anything lol.

I just wanted to make 1mi in 15 minutes so I'm pretty happy with that. FWIW onX line and that app agreed perfectly for planning

I went for a 5 mile run today. Roughly 45 min, no kettlebell, still felt like I was gonna keel over by the end of it. I suppose it's time to start running in the morning before it gets warm out.

Im in only to encourage Nutterbuster as a fitness influencer . Farmers carry has been around for a bit.
Just walked my dog with a kettlebell, the looks from passerby was better than the workout.

Twice a week I do 20 minutes on a treadmill at the gym, 15* incline. Today I grabbed a 22 lb kb. After 8 minutes I was totally smoked. :dizzy:

Did a mile this evening with 50 lb kettlebell. It went a lot better than I was expecting. Not sure I'll be able to get out of bed in the morning though. I'm 6' 4" and somewhere around 215. I was interesting to me that it didn't seem as hard as when I try to time a fast run. Kinda lines up with what the article had to say about bigger guys doing better with weight vs running. Nice. I may do a mile with a 16kg one tomorrow and try again with 25 Monday.

Definitely interested in how you feel tomorrow.

Dude just killed the game. Mad props. Glad someone beat this cold Turkey so I wouldn’t have to attempt it.

Y'all can do it however you want. If you wanna lie/cheat about an internet fitness and tough-guy challenge...

I just double-checked to make sure I wasn't full of it. Took my dog for a walk. Covered 0.96 miles in 13 minutes and change. And that's after unloading half an 18-wheeler full of boxes, carrying 53lbs 1.5 miles, and then walking another 3 miles as a cool-down. It's a good clip for me, but that's with a pretty good hill for this area that I have to go up and then down.

Full disclosure, I'm 6ft even with a 34ish inch inseam and only just now 30. No sports injuries or known physical medical issues.

@gcr0003, I would imagine grip strength would definitely be the limiting factor for you. You're lanky enough that the pace isn't an issue and young enough that the weight itself isn't an issue. 53lbs carried off-balance is definitely a completely different animal than a 50lb pack or 2, 25lb dumbbells, but for 15 minutes it's doable. My time was so long mainly because after the first half mile my grip strength was completely spent. I think with a rest, some chalk, and an early (cool) morning, I'm already really close to being able to do it.

Some freaks report doing it in under 9 minutes. I can't fathom running with the damn thing.
I'll try it but I loaded 620 bale of straw into a 53' box trailer last night, so not today...

I think I got the weight and intensity about right for the first try. Sore pretty much every where but not bad. The weight definitely did work a lot more muscles than a jog alone. I'll try to get a little more running in, try it with the bell again Sunday or Monday
