Kinda dumb question BUT

I believe the OP is just referencing when he climbed with his hang on, he had a system to be set at the correct height. With a saddle, he is trying to figure out a system to set his platform so that when he is set, his shooting lanes are open. I don't believe he is asking a certain height. Just what everyone does to try and be at the correct height once set up.
Ah. If I’m returning to a tree I’ve hunted before I just read the sign I left behind from prior hunts, such as marks left by my platform and wear marks from my tether and lineman’s belt.

You could tie reference knots or some other
Kind of reference lines in a length of paracord or your pull up line.

I love this site! Not only can you learn more about deer hunting, but also ancient measures of length, such as cubit. Love it! LOL.

Another almost worthless lesson, the way you signal numbers with your hand will tell other which part of the world you are from. I found this out from the movie Inglorious Bastards and its true. Growing up in Vietnam, I learn to signal 3 with my pinky, ring, and index with palm facing me, but Cambodia next door the palm is facing toward because showing someone the back of your hand is disrespectful, because it look like the back hand slap posture which is a great disrespect. Everyone really need to chill sometimes......
