Likely taking my Beast Sticks with me out of state later this week. I have a bunch of endless Amsteel loops from Backwoods Mobile Gear.
I was going to hitch one to an Amsteel soft shackle and using it on my bottom stick to get an extra 3-4’.

Anyone doing this? If so, care to share some pics?

Here’s what I did. Any issues with that? Other than the Bridge that was on my Phantom, I don’t have much experience with Amsteel.

I have cable aiders on my sticks but debating going to a knaider/swaider as well. I think some people will just hook the knaider or swaider hook right onto the bottom step, no need to put an extra loop on there.

I hadn't thought of doing that. Would it be any different than if you ran your swaider that same distance longer and hooked right to the step? Coming down in the dark I'd prefer to hook to something solid (less fishing), but I don't think that rises to a safety level of concern at all.

I don’t see any issue with hooking it to the step. Swaider has a carabiner so I was thinking I would hook it there and hook my Knaider on the actual step. I thought I might prefer having my weight in the middle of the stick when stepping up, but as good as the Beast Sticks bite, it probably doesn’t matter.

Works pretty well, when I decided to give one sticking a go after using WE stepps for a season I decided to continue using my knaider/swaider to get additional height between moves. Swaider to bottom step and I'd make sure the carabiner was close to the stick then knaider to middle of bottom step. It worked well but in an effort to reduce gear and dump the dump pouches I ended up going to a double step amsteel aider that I leave attached to my stick. I've only done two hunts and a few practice climbs with the amsteel aider, doesn't feel as stable as knaider/swaider but I wouldn't say one is any quicker than the other.

I did this with several different sticks and honestly, fishing for the loop was a lot harder than simply clipping onto the step of the stick, which worked perfectly fine.

Switch your carabiner out for a ratchet strap hook and you'll be happier.

I use just a Knaider and hook it right on to the bottom step. I really wonder why people don’t do this more rather than using a moveable aider or a single aider on each stick. The Knaider seems way more secure with less material, etc. It works really well for me this way.

For sticks, I prefer hookless versions of knaider and swaider made with 2” webbing. For regular length beast sticks I’d probably just use one or the other, but not both.

Anybody have pics of your knaider/ swaider attachment method you’re using successfully with LWCG double steps. Thank you!
