Knee pads vs Kneeling pad?

Both suck. Knees smashed into a tree is what drove me back to a stand. Its honestly the only down fall to saddle hunting.

I haven't tried knee pads hunting. I can't stand them when I'm at work or at home. The pad that I use for hunting works alright (2 inches of foam). I usually stand the majority of the hunt though.
 
I was thinking of trying the foam noodle with aluminum tube in the center. I can make it the right size so I don’t have to squish the needs together
