Knee Pads

There are plenty of discussions and videos around about different set ups, but there isn't much about different knee pads. I am looking at 5.11's two different styles. Does any one have any advice? Thanks in advance.

I have tried knee pads but they were kind of a pain to get fit correctly over winter clothes and to walk with. Putting them on up in the stand was one more thing to get just right and noisy. I saw a YouTube video where the guy attached a piece of foam to the tree directly. He used a piece of seat cushion. I like that idea better.

Here’s the cheapest pair you can buy at Lowe’s, I think they were $3. They are all foam no hard cap. I put stealth strips on them and changed the Velcro on the strap to a plastic buckle. I sat 8 straight hours in the tree with them this year no problem. They only have a single strap I find that ones with two straps dig into the back of my knee. These are so light weight and small they take up no room in my pack. You could fit them into a side pocket easily.

Thinking about the soft athletic knee pads. Putting them on underneath your pants before you head out.
All cloth with an elastic back.
Those will work also but if it’s hot out they will make the back of your knees sweat like crazy.

Only problem putting em underneath is you tear your pants up on the bark after a while. Not a big deal if you wear cheap brands like me but for sitka fanboiz i would rock em on the outside.
