Who uses a Lansky for sharpening their knives? Does it work well and can it be used for single blade broad heads? Guy at Cabela's was pushing those belt based one's, he sharpened my knife but was not hair cutting sharp. Leaning towards the Lansky.

I have a Smith's and a Sharp works belt sharpener. The Smith Works fine but the Sharp Works is awesome.

For knife sharpening, I love my DMT kit.

Worksharp is good for certain knife styles. Mainly cheap. thin knives and convex blade knives. I prefer to freehand vs use the guide.

I prefer stones for all pretty much every knife other than my heavy duty blades.

I've had this kit for 8+ years and I just recently replaced my old wore out 1 with a new 1....they have made improvement with the new 1s......sharpens fixed 2 blade broad heads the same as ur knife. Nice pouch so it's easy to throw in with ur hunt gear ....highly recommend.....not sure if the link will go to the diamond stone version but that is the 1 I'm recommending

@Weldabeast - the link does go to the Diamond version. BTW, I have the Smiths sharpening clamp (that’s in the kit you’re recommending) as well as the DMT sharpening clamp, and I like the Smiths clamp better because it’s metal and doesn’t flex like the plastic DMT one can. (Both work, but the Smiths clamp is better). The diamond stones of both brands are quite comparable, IMO.

My old set the clamp had 2 slots...new 1s have 4 I think. Mucho better....I was never good at free handing...this jig makes it easy....I run the 2 stones and a strop and it'll shave

So is the Lansky the poor mans version of this?
If it works that good, guess buy once cry once as the saying goes.
Thx for the heads up on the 10% :--)

Got a Sharp Works as a gift a few years back. By far my favorite sharpener for a drawer full of kitchen/chef knives and hunting blades. That thing is amazing.
