The double ring friction saver brought about another type that uses a pulley. At first a large ring was used, then a loop with something to stiffen it for removal from the ground.

Does the shackle pulley (not sure what pulley that is) fit through the ring?

If the end of the bolt was cut off, and the Petzl Open ring was actually attached, yes it would! Plans are to make a large spliced eye with a large zip strip to keep it open. Maybe should have given a warning it was a staged picture.
