I am thinking on my tether as well.
My Slyde should be in the mailbox tonight or tomorrow.

Ok, so I'm playing around with the Slyde.
The first rope i picked is an 8mm Samson Ultra-Tech.
It is TOO SMALL to use with this apparatus !
There is enough room in the elongated hole for the rope to 'pass bye itself' and alow you to free-fall...
I'm pretty bummed because I have a 30' length of this rope that I was gonna make a few tethers out of. My plan was to have the Slyde on at least one of them but that ain't gonna work.
I suppose a guy could 'build-up' one side of the oval shaped hole with J-B Weld or something to get it to work with 8mm rope?
I don't think I'm up to that though.

Is that rope a flat rope, like the stuff on the WE steps? I used an 8mm rope on mine, and it held okOk, so I'm playing around with the Slyde.

Question for you: if you are already using a dynamic rope with 30% stretch would the slyde still be worth it? Would it just essentially give you even extra fall catching? I have a dynamic rope already so not sure if the slyde is needed. I'm on a gear spending freeze.I already posted this in some other threads but this rope is the bomb and works with the Slyde.
I have no affiliation with this company or products other than I bought three 8ft sections of this rope.

Call and ask for Brandon. He hunts and is super knowledgeable on all the ropes. I told him to sign up on here. Not sure if he has or not. But yes, he tested that rope for me which I purchased from another forum member. I sent it in and he tested it for me (us) hence the rating and info on the site. He will do any rope you want and loves doing it. Anyways. Back to the Slyde.I was surprised when I had them sew eyes on some canyon elite that I got from EWO and got free shipping as well. With an extra 6 foot length of rope they did a pull test on the rope for free too. They are going to be my, go to, place to have any rope work done for sure. I'll bet they would be reasonable on making some 22" Eye to eye hitch cords with some TRC.
It is not needed at all. But for ten dollars I want to compare it to a Kong Duck as another option and basically learn another piece of kit that’s out there. Or maybe toss one in your kit somewhere as an extra or backup or who knows what. But it is not needed if you already have all the other methods already available.Question for you: if you are already using a dynamic rope with 30% stretch would the slyde still be worth it?
