Kong Slyde

Slyde works pretty good on the resc tech rope, I havent seen any problems with it sliding so far, but I havent done much field testing. It's going to go on my lineman rope.

It works on the elite canyon, but it's pretty difficult to loosen. TBH I'm not sure how you could effectively use the maximum within spec size of 10mm rope on this thing, it's almost too large to feed through.

Also I found out by reading up on this, that the reason this device isn't certified is because of too many variations and configurations to properly verify it.

That was my issue with it.
I really like the little fella but giving yourself slack was a b!tch...
The 8mm resc tech and probably oplux seem to feed fine through it both directions, but that is out of the manufacturer's spec.

From what I can see, the rope pinches on itself while weighted and seems pretty solid. I kinda bounced into it on my LM and didn't get any slippage. Your results may vary

I'll have to try it on another rope.
Just like everything else saddle hunting related - buy & try, buy & try, buy & try... LOL

Good eye!
I had one more wrap on it at first. (just enough cord for that)
It locked up tighter than a nun but didn't release very well.

I won't recommend it to anyone else but @ 160lbs that hitch works great for me on a lot of different ropes...

Where you get that itty bitty figure 8?
DanO has you covered, as usual

Nnnnnoooooooooo! I can bring myself to pay $12 in shipping for an item that costs $1.19.

Ok, after 20 minutes of messing around with the Slyde I turned it into this instead...

Much easier on my wrist!
On another note, I see that shotgun hull laying there. I can’t find a single 20 gauge shotgun shell in all of Norfolk VA to go squirrel hunting with. *** has happened to the world? Everyone hoarding ammo like it’s toilet paper or something. Rant over….

I'm a competitive trap and skeet shooter.
We're way past 'over the hump' of hoarding. It was pretty bad a while back. Even reloading components were tough to get. As soon as stuff became available it sold-out immediately...
You have to know where to go to get stuff. Retail places like Duhnums, Gander Mountain, Walmart and the like will get bought out in a flash. Wholesale supply dealers are where I go anyway so that's good on my end.

I'm a high volume shooter so I need to keep a pretty good stock pile of stuff. Shooting 1,000 rounds a week is normal for me. Soo, having to pay $50 or more for a bag of shot sucks! (only had to do that twice) But atleast i can 'roll my own'...

Lol
I buy stuff from @DanO weekly. He has plenty of stuff YOU need.
Order enough to make the shipping price worth while...
Ha! Ha! Ha! you sound like my wife “I know I didn’t need it, but it was on sale” I think I’ve already funded a semester of college for one of his Dano’s kids already LOL. I used to reload everything when I was a teenager growing up in Louisiana, but when the ducks got scarce and I joined the Navy I gave it up. Really haven’t shot any shotgun in 20 years….it’s certainly different now.

Zero One Actual who is also following this thread, was nice enough to send me an EZ V insert for free the other day.

In the same spirit, I have a few of these mini 8’s and I will gladly send you one 2Sloe !

Shoot me a PM with your shipping info and I will get it in the mail for you.

I found the same. I didn’t like how tight it got on the canyon maxim rope, but it worked nicely on the oplux... what do you guys think about using it with oplux as a lineman’s belt? To big of a risk of slippage?

got about 20 climbs now using my slyde on my lineman belt, and i gotta say i like this little thing. allows me to adjust the belt without much effort, and i havent had an incident (yet) or any sliding that made me change my drawers.

Thanks for the update, what rope are you going with?

What is the consensus on best carabiner for it? None of my oval shapes biners are compatible.
