Latitude Carbon Sticks - Saddle Attachment Method?

Did you show shoot the carbon one? The Era if I recall?
no i didnt let myself shoot anything that far above my budget, i already stretched it to get to the range i shot. figured if i liked the carbon ones too much i'd find a way to justify spending even MORE than i " needed" to. i think the guy slipped in a 1600 dollar hoyt anyway but i ruled it out early

Four sticks for under $300 shipped to my door. They weigh 1.2 lb with attachment method. Made in the USA with a 5 year warranty. For the price and weight that's pretty hard to beat. The only sticks even in that ballpark price range are like XOP's, Novix/Trophyline, and Skeletors. And these sticks are anywhere from 1.7 to 2+ lbs. If ya'll know of any other sticks in this range let me know.

If the Carbon SS sticks don't break, I'd scoop them up.

All failures are bad news.

"Just" a broken step could result in catastrophic consequences. Not only during standard climbing, but think of the aider craze. How many sticks include aider use in the product literature?

Some guy had a cam strap release/failure. That'd suck.

I'm pretty comfortable with my sticks, but I've said before I really enjoy cable aiders yet worry that I can't readily inspect them thoroughly.

I never used to worry about this stuff much, but maybe I should be climbing with tether and push pole like @Islandshooter, idk.
Been comfortable with heights forever but after listening to @FlCanopyStalker about falls and slack and the like, i just dont want to risk it anymore. It’s only a few more steps in the climb. Worth it to this old guy!

Got my sticks. Put it on a tree, and I’m really digging them. I’m coming from hawks so honestly I’m blown away. Go on the tree easily, dig in to it, and don’t kick out. I even tried tying it on the wrong way, jumped up and down on it and it was fine.
I think all the hand wringing about an unexplained picture on Facebook may be going overboard a bit. I think if that makes you uncomfortable then don’t buy em. If it doesn’t bother you as much then grab a set.

I mean we already saw a break and heard about another. Many have already been resold in the classifieds. Not looking so good.

Has anyone checked the weight? My X2’s are about $1.40 per ounce, while my One’s are $7.18 per ounce.

0 listed since you posted the image of the broken tie off from Facebook. The last related Classifieds transaction was a Monday sale of a set that was never even tried. Folks were still clamoring to get them. Idk.

Broken wing, broken step...that sounds much worse. I'll put stock in that, but I'd like to hear a bit more about it.

On here… they are all over Facebook

I'm considering returning mine to Latitude. It might be knee-jerk, but I've got so many sets of sticks.

I got my 3pack yesterday from Scheels. First impression is good, the ears seems plenty sturdy. Hopefully I can put them through the ringer this weekend. Aiders and single stick are still on the way.

Well on Facebook and IG they are really pushing telling people they need to follow the directions for using their climbing sticks.

Oh, don’t climb them without a full body harness either.

I’m pretty sure they had the same warning information that came with the x-wing also, it was in the instruction book that came with it…

Seems like they'd sell those safety devices if they say you need to be using them... just saying

Every tree stand, stick maker and platform has that same statement in some shape or form if it is insured. Or the others just say you take all responsibility for the use of our product and we are not responsible for any injury. Nothing new for the industry. Gotta love the saddles that said not for use in elevated use.

This one from the Tethrd One Stick instructions is interesting.

So Tethrd saddles are Fall Arrest Systems? @Fl Canopy Stalker.
