Hey everyone. I’m a new member to the site and I’m hoping to purchase my first saddle in the next couple of weeks so I can get my hands on it to start getting familiar with everything. I’m very interested in the Cruzr XC and other members have showed me the Deluxe saddle from Woods Hunting Saddles which looks great too! I’m also interested in the Classic 2 from Latitude Outdoors. It looks like a very quality saddle and it’s on sale right now for around $160. Is this a really good deal on a nice saddle? Or is it on sale because they’re trying to get rid of them for something newer/better coming soon? Are there features of this saddle that you guys don’t like or would steer clear of?

I find the classic 2 to be one of the most comfortable saddles on the market. I personally don’t really like pleated saddles.

The biggest gripe I have with the classic 2 is the way they made the lineman’s loops. They take up to much room so the molle loops start to far back. You have to reach around further than I like to reach your dump pouch(s)

Thinking about sending mine in for this mod. It could be done DIY too I suppose. I'm sure you saw it @enkriss but goes along with your post and proves that it's a common gripe.

Classic 2 is simple but effective and that current price is a great bargain.

The XC just felt somewhat cheap to me, like it was gonna last half the time as say an AH saddle.

I’ve only had a handful of saddles and recently got the Classic 2. I don’t have any tree time with it yet but it’s the best quality that I’ve seen in a saddle. I like the simplicity of it. I don’t think you can find a better quality one for the price that it’s going for right now.

Gracias!

18 year saddle vet here who has owned 10+ saddles and I love everything about the Classic 2 except the damn LL configuration which pushes my dump sacks WAY back, as Enkriss mentioned. Will pursue this mod!

The C2 seems to fit my anatomy perfectly and I love the rope belt. I like to loosen my belt while in the tree and then tightening it back up when I descend, and those tasks are much more easily accomplished (for me) with the rope belt than any buckle-type belt.

Wow thanks for this! I am going to send mine after season.

Love my classic 2

I just got the Classic 2 with the sale price after 3 years using a Phantom. Haven’t hunted with it yet but it seems much more comfortable and functional than the Phantom in the backyard testing so far.

CGM did the mod and performed an A+ job on it. The Classic 2 is now perfect!

May have to try CGM for my backup saddle for when my Classic 2 is drying out from rain days. Upgrade from my current backup.

Had the Classic 2, sold it.

It‘s a good saddle in that it finds it’s most comfortable position without much adjustment. But it wasn’t as comfortable as other options for me. I got slight pressure from the roll of the rope belt, and it pulled my legs together more than the Wood saddles. Those have a much better build quality as well.
