Same path aero hinter then mantis version one back to aero hunter kestrel but that one is 4 yrs ago looking for more streamlined and this method 2 looks pretty slick but I wonder about the rope belt safety in a fall that no one ever wants to go through but you have to think about

I wasn't sold on this either at first but short of a catastrophic failure, it isn't an issue. I can't find my notebook at the moment but I have the name of the knot written down and ended up adding a wrap to it to increase the friction.

Edit: Found it...

original method owner here as well. been eyeing the 2 but the original works well so no need to upgrade just for magnets for me. i wear 36 pants, regular size works very well. (i have the austrialpin buckle on mine, but likely going to try rope bridge in the off season).

go for it, you wont be dissapointed, and should be able to resell for pretty much what you paid if you end up not liking it.

How well do the magnets hold up? I got the original method and the kydex clips were kinda a pain in the butt.

Wow …so my concern was justified …thanks for making it better!

I've had rope and buckles loosen while walking in. Adding the extra wrap on the rope belt fixed that. Once at height, I typically loosen my belt anyways as I find it more comfortable and the belt isn't as important once hanging from the bridge.

So is the rope belt a concern?
I’m just wondering as I’m looking at the method 2
No. Saddles slide down on the walk in no matter the belt. I had this issue and just added suspenders. I use the method 2 and have not had a single issue with the belt being a danger while climbing, during the hunt or rappelling. In my opinion sometimes people might think a little too much, and find problems where they do not exist.

I started a post asking about it and asking if anyone gad concerns with the ripe belt. While I admit my first impression was great I love that rope belt.

But then I told myself slo down what is the purpose of the belt could the rope compromise my security somehow.

Another person posted he just added another loop in the knot so once synched it won’t move but allows free movement for adjustments.

My concern was if its so great why haven’t other saddles done it unless uts a patent.

But all that to say I am good with the rope belt after thinking about it I think if it failed on me I likely have bigger issues anyway.

I'd argue that point.. I walk in with a saddle with a metal buckle and it ALWAYS loosens up... I don't think there's concern for either to loosen while at height.

Good point. I was just thinking about the Buckle but yea your right the strap to the buckle could loosen.

I was only stopping to ask myself about the rope belt because it is my life if I fall but after stopping to think I have decided its ok. Latitude says the rope belt keeps the saddle from falling on walk in.

It is safe, but it does not stay up for on the walk in, so suspenders it is. I wear suspenders for my pants as well, so maybe it is just me.
