Let-off and accuracy

I prefer lower let-off around the 65%-70%. The bow is more stable and holds steadier. I also prefer binary cams and prefer cable stops instead of limb stops. I prefer target style bows with 7"+ brace height and 36"+ ATA.

Most guys are "overbowed" and don't develop shooting stamina so the high let-off is appealing and relieving. One would be a lot better off with lower poundage and lower let-off as compared to high poundage and high let-off.

I just put 50lb. limbs on an older Hoyt Power Hawk bow that had 70lb. limbs on it. I believe it is 80% let off and cable stop. I always liked the bow but had trouble shooting it lately due to a shoulder issue and the cam design. Now its a dream to shoot. My Elite Kure is a newer bow set at 90% let off, 60lbs. and I use the limb stop. It also is a pleasure to shoot. I like the limb stop, but might try changing the let off to 80%. While it is easier to hold at full draw for a length of time with 90% let off, I think that 80% let off helps keep the bow steadier and on target.

I prefer a little holding weight. I find that I will creep with too much let off. The little extra weight keeps me honest.
