But honestly, for my basement, I get large 2' by 2' cardboard boxes and fill them with all my kids and my own old clothes towels etc. Nothing beats it for durability for field points. Box has 4 sides,when worn, throw in a new box. I can't and don't use them outside because of rain. I built the foam one for outside!

I love the repurposed wagon
 
I have used a bulldog targets for 4 years now and it's still going strong. It has outlasted 3 bag targets and 1 of the foam mat targets. But it's limited to feild points ONLY.... Don't ask, just don't accidentally shoot a single bevel into it. It's not a pleasant experience!!!!
 
I bought a Morrel bag target last year. Made the mistake of shooting a Hurricane bag target with a Montec several years ago and had to do exploratory surgery to get it back. So far so good. I've got a bunch of HF floor mats cut for a portable target but haven't finished assembling it. Just bought 2 more packs of mats which will get me where I want, just need to cut them down. I really like the ratchet strap idea, totally stealing that.
 
So how are you guys cutting your floor mats? Razor knife or table saw?

PS. I’ve used 2x4’s and threaded rod to recompress block style targets that were starting to get pass throughs.

I use a circular saw
 
Over a decade ago, I was gifted with enough "heads" to set up an 80 target "non-typical" three D course for traditional bows. I've enjoyed sharing it with lot's of friends. This video is a short peek of the fun my guest and I have had. These targets have held up better than I could have imagined despite being in the weather and having been shot hundreds of times.

Those look easier to hit than the old bottle course. :)

I used a table saw for mine and it cut quick and easy thru the foam. I used floormats from Home Depot, but Harbor Freight is cheaper by a couple dollars so when I need to replenish that's where I'll get them from. Luckily their opening a new location right by me.

Table saw is where it's at. My Craftsman is just barely big enough to use the fence and I wound up C-clamping a piece of scrap lumber to the edge of the table to serve as a fence, but I got it done.
 
The Morrell M48 is a great target. I’m replacing the cover now. It’s just a metal frame covered and stuffed with fabric. You could make one super easy and use the cover. Probably cost about $125 for everything.

I use one as a backstop. Arrows don’t go through it, but they are a real bugger to pull out.
 
I’m on my second year of my Matrix target. I shoot about 18-30 arrows per day and go through one module per year (or slightly more). I’ll probably pick up 2 new modules next year and be basically back to a brand new target. Matrix products are not cheap, but they seem to hold up well.
