I've used Nockturnal's since I can remember. The only problem I've ever had was last week......shot a buck and the nock worked fine off the string. As soon as my arrow hit the deer the nock turned off and never came back on.

My last one with a nockturnal exploded on impact.

My nockturnals are quiet
I did forget though. The only thing I’ve had happen to them is when they get blood inside they might quit working. I shot two does this year with one and on the third it didn’t light up when it was fired. Dried blood caked it up. My father had the same issue on one.

This will be second season without any lighted knocks. I have used a lot of brands including fire knocks. I will no longer waste my money on these things until a significant redesign is made. Too many issues and botched hunts. Some times we rely too much on gear and not enough on intuition.

That is where I was at a few years ago, including firenock. Jumped back in this year thinking time has made them better. Not so sure now....

I have not seen any difference in flight from the reflective tape. It's really only 1/4 inch wide and I cut exactly to diameter of arrow like a wrap. No overlap.
Im using just some thin tough red tape for my turbulators so im gonna get some reflective tape for those , i only use 1/8"wide lil strip wrapped once .. They will reflect pretty good im thinkin. Thanx for the idea.

I use knock-off nockturnals. I forget if they were from Ebay or amazon but they were ridiculously cheap. Unfortunately they buzz in my quiver unlike the real nockturnals. I did need to use a plastic bag as a shim so they fit snug. Otherwise they have been great.

I just got some glory nocks in and I'm seeing the same issue.

Update:
I really like the concept of these nocks and I liked the material of them. They are hard and keep their shape. They just didn't fit my serving. So I finally got around to changing my serving to fit the nock properly. Not too tight and not to loose. They slip off quietly now and hold well on the draw. I've shot a hog and deer with them so far with no issues. I've even washed the blood off of them and they still work. Serving fit made the difference. The nock is a hard plastic so you can't bend them open and close to find the right fit, which is good if you have the right serving. You don't want a crookedly bent nock leaving your string. I just bought 2 more packs.

I used nocturnals but had issues with them fitting the skinny string on my trad bow which is not good so nearly had a dry fire moment and binned them off, I decided to have a go myself and made my own which are far better, brighter and fit my skinny strings, just a pull off so no sticking a pointy thing in a hole, real easy, regards wayne.

I honestly couldn’t tell you what I have on my arrows (fire nocks maybe?), but whatever they are, they rattle like maracas. Is there a such thing as quiet lighted nocks???

Two solutions:

1. Rub bowstring wax on battery/nock for a more snug fit

2. Hold a plastic bag (grocery bag works well I hear) over the end of arrow before inserting the nock and cut off excess.

Best of luck....
