Lightest Climbing Methods?

All of these options are lighter than the lone wolf assault climber I've used in the past (~13.5 lbs).

Used bullman pioneer steps / cam straps for prob 30 hang and hunts.

I can’t find a lighter set up 5lbs that gives me 12 steps over 20’ if I want to

I had a set of lwcg sticks I used once and sold to many things to turn and stack

I’d like to find a better way, but not sure there is

you are spot on..its 2tc.or single steps.when comparing all options.a stick has 2 steps 1 strap and a usles stick.for single steps its 2 steps 2 straps no usles stick.so the comparison is a stick or strap for the same purpose.sticks dont roll up.the slight extra time it takes to secure an extra strap is worth the smaller pack in.the extra strap is more secure than a stick.never kicks out, and gives you more options without the hangups .like bark knots, ruff bark, branches, crooked trunks ,2 trunks, leaners.all no problem with single steps.and there is less to look at on the tree.....so...... branches, 2tc,or single steps.strap on, or tree hopper drill.in my opinion everything els on the market today is useless.monkeys use sticks to chase off animals.thats a scientific fact

I am forever in search of a lightweight but workable system that doesn’t require you to be an under 30 tree ninja. kudos for those that can climb that way. Agree on the LWCG steps. I have the LWCG mini with cable aider. Can’t beat the system factor but allot going there. Hawk Heliums are just to heavy and back poorly. WE steps are nice but fussy And ten are 10 pounds. They do pack well on the way in. I’m just not cut out for aider, swaders etc. Are the Bulman steps solid on the tree? Do they wobble at all? Are you using OCB buckles or regular cam buckles? I like bolts on non public but not legal on public. I use steel bolts because at 200 pounds I don’t trust carbon. The HangingN30 steps look interesting but almost as heavy as the WE steps with cam buckles. Sorry for all the questions just looking for info.

nothing more versitile than single steps.check the pimped my ride up the tree thread.the hangN30 steps are cooler and smaller to pack than my ameristeps.but i showed the weight of 10 steps and aring of steps in the bag at 8 pounds .

I agree with most about 2TC being the lightest. But if you dont want to mess with it, 1 sticking with a Shikar Mini+aider will get you as high as you want. Plus 35 ft of Oplux is 2 lbs most?

It seems most people don't actually step on the top step of the stick when 1 sticking .so I don't know what the stick or top step just extras,is really doing for anyone .if you don't want to carry sticks it would seem like one would go strait to no sticking with a platform or 2tc.that would be my choices. All are good systems and can be lighter than single steps but single steps won't limit you in any way to what tree you pick.you stand close to the tree and very sturdy. Not the lightest but limitless.where as 2tc,1sticking and no sticking are all close in tree selection.but for ultra light long distance and a nice tree ,2 teather up and down.the trade off for mee is ultra light but picky with trees or single steps anywhere i please no inbetweens no sticks.1 sticking is the hype .and with hype majority rules.so the majority of people here wont like what im putting down.but ive never been convenced to carry any kind of stick that dont shoot .i started with single steps a decade ago before most sticks hit the market ,and still not convenced that they have any advantage in any way other than less straps.id rather pack in straps in a bag than even one stick straped to a bag.that could make noise if i hit it with my bow or release,or just piss me off pulling it through bear tunnels under blackberrys .im so anal i wraped my release with silencer.and my carabiners too
