It's not a normal regulation for the state. I do a couple different managed hunts for counties within our state. One of them you can shoot a buck first but need to shoot two does before another buck. This one, you have to shoot an equal number of does before bucks. So if you shoot 1 doe you can shoot a buck. If you've got 2 does down, then you're eligible for 2 bucks. For both of those hunts, the bucks don't count towards your state bag limit. Neither do the does. So it's worth it, and I'd never have a chance at that deer if I wasn't in the program, but it's brutal when you're in the situation I was in lol.
