Lone wolf handclimber/ Saddle combo Part 3

Ok just got back from Lowe’s w the needed hardware, 15 mins in the garage I’m ready to for the last step ...I need to decide on the foot strap! Then I’ll give it a go, I’m loving this idea for clean trees. But if I’m scouting on my way in, I will leave this one at home and stick w WE steps. I also will be bringing along the hand drill for trees that I really like the location, I can drill for bolts on the way down so next time I’ll bring the bolts

We still have a solid three feet of snow on the ground here with the banks along the road between 4 and 5 feet. I'm not getting into the woods anytime soon. :disappointed:

Wow....We haven't had 2 foot of snow since 2016. Only thing we have is record rain fall in the past year.

It's just another tool. We just have so many poplar trees here, in and around thick cover.
It really works for us. I usually know where I'm going so that helps. I don't free lance much. I'm sure I'll be getting some of those LWCG sticks, for my trees with limbs ....$$$

I also see those in my future AND the platform too! Ugh do not speak to my wife about this please. Lol

A gentleman on youtube would like me to make a video on modifying the lone wolf platform with my "Adrena mod" Hahaha....
Since i do have to mod another one i said i would.

Is there anything anybody would like to see or me to show during the video? Figure i could just throw it in there.Let me know.

@Adrena123 not sure if you use the aider on the WL (like Bongo does) I tried it and like it. Gets you up a good 3feet and I found that the starting angle of the LW work better to thank to this 3 foot head start. Could be cool to see on a video.

I have used my " ocb stabilizer strap" as a step. It definitely helps when the bottom of the tree is crazy wide. So many little options and mods. It's fun.

I haven’t used it yet but it’s in my future!

Thought it was already on youtube in Part 3 ? Else yes, would like to see a video. Looks like a good mod. Plan to do it.

I have posted pics with measurements and explained the mod in part 3. That alone has been good enough so far but... I guess some guys need to actually see me drill some holes and tighten some nuts. I don't mind since i have another one to do. Also i will use a strap that comes with the platform to make a foot strap. May throw something else in the mix as well.

I have the mule and love it. They ain’t cheep.

please excuse my ignorance, but what is the best way to measure the exact degrees?

also, I may have missed it, did you mention what size bit, bolt and nut you used?

Look at post 27 and (110 I think) Adrena123 has so good pictures. And I think the size of the bolt is on the video.

As far as measuring the angle, if you have an iPhone just click on the utilities app, then click on “Measure”, then click on “level” at the bottom of the screen. Wala, your iPhone is now a level.

Any angle finder tool or the phone. 5/16 drill bit,5/16 bolt. We use an allen head bolt like the stock LW one. Then a coupler nut.
