Looking for a good day backpack that is reasonably priced. Want something that has a lot of various compartment's, tired of my cheap pack where you just dump everything in and then have to fishing when you need something. For example, compartment for folding saw, GPS, head lamps, knife - you get the idea. Mystery Ranch has some but they are on the expensive side. Maybe something in the $150 range give or take a few.

Badlands typically have 40% to 50% off sales. You could get a pretty nice day pack for $150 or less if you catch a sale.

Kuiu venture 1800. It is a tad above your $150 price point but not a lot. For me, just the right amount of pockets and compartments, light weight, great strapping options and solid enough to handle an 80-90# load. It wont carry that weight as well as full frame pack but it's not horrible for couple miles.
There is a Horn Hunter G2 on Cabelas for $119. I’ve never had one but here them mentioned on here alot
The kuiu venture would be good in the price your looking at. I owned and it worked real well. Plus you can run it with or without the belt depending on preference, the belt does give 2 more pocket options. If you watch for a sale the 1800 can be had around $140. It’s tough because a pack is a very personal and subjective decision. Hope you find the one! Lol

The direct action messenger bag would fit the bill. I'm way more organized with it
& a lot easier to get to everything. I use it more then my pop up 28. It has pretty

I picked up one of these packs from the classifieds to upgrade from my old Redhead day pack. Lots of pockets and straps for gear. Has a pocket for a water bladder as well. Well thought out pack IMO. It’s a revamped version of the Full Rut pack by GamePlan. My EDP platform fits nicely inside. You could also strap it on the outside.

if you are gonna walk long distance in it and have it weigh over 15 lbs, then i'd get one with at least a decent internal frame and both waist and sternum straps

mystery ranch packs pretty much all have adjustable frames and some others do too
this is very important so that the pack will fit you well
you don't need to use a hunting pack, a lot of hiker packs work well
the mystery ranch scree is my main pack and it is not as much as the hunting specific mystery ranch packs

with some of the hiking packs, you might want to cut off the metal zipper pulls and make your own out of cord so that they are more quiet
if a pack doesn't have the exact straps you'd like to tie stuff down, you can make all sorts of temporary tie downs using bungees and webbing....can put them exactly where you'd like usually and not even have to sew or modify the pack

I use one of these in blaze orange during rifle season. I like a bigger main compartment for extra layers and other snivel gear.

My "kill kit" rides in a fanny pack that lives in the main compartment of whatever pack I'm carrying until I need it, which further helps with organization.

A smaller x2 would be the greatest day pack ever. I love the x2 but I find it to be too big and bulky for a day pack, I’d like a minimalist version of the x2. I’m waiting to see what Tethrd is coming out with. I was lucky enough to see video of it for the 10 minutes it was leaked to Facebook (sorry didn’t think to record or snap screenshots) but that pack looks pretty big too, it also didn’t look like it would carry sticks anywhere near as well as the x2. But I’m sure I’ll buy it anyway haha.
Check out the packs for paint ballers. Most are loaded with molle so you can put stuff where you want it. I’ve been running a paint ball pack for a few years now.
good pack….I have one. Little large for my personal preference Tho. It’s sitting in a tote unused now.
