LWCG Ambush - The Camming Chronicles

I have the older LW Assassin and love it. The platform works awesome and it cams very well. I adjust the screw on the platform and tighten up the strap. I then lift the platform and push down with my hands. And tighten again. Once on i lift the platform one last time and use my weight to cam over. The assassin does not move an inch.

I was in the tree today with the ambush and set it up by hand as described above but once I got in the platform then if I would switch my weight from one foot to another the platform would squeak. I was trying to mimic the types of movement that you’d use with a deer coming in (like if you had to adjust your weight to the other side of the platform to get a good shot). When the squeaking would happen I was thinking “well, I gave it an honest try” and figured I could just send it back.

Then I remembered how you said that you lift the platform then step it down with your weight. Since I was able to safely lift the platform with my boot I figured I might as well give it a shot. I’m pleased to say that after lifting the platform with my foot and stepping it down similar to what people say they’ve done with the assassin then the ambush was very solid and very quiet.

I’m excited to see how future experiences do but so far it seems good to go
