LWCG | Ranger Hybrid | Customizations

Finally got around to putting a belt on mine. Latitude one.

A bit much with the back pads built in but feels good.
I just received the XOP hip belt in the mail today. They had an insane deal on it. Big improvement from no belt. Slight cushion on the back that pushed the stand off your back just slightly but enough to make a big change in comfort. Highly recommend.

$40 savings va the LWCG belt https://xopoutdoors.com/products/wa...HoPILxqX_lauP6eLDIUTD4SOlfLNxi_pdVvadd7us8ASz

@Pattywhacker - if you straighten the seat out on the Ranger hybrid (post folded down, seat in the up position) - what is the total length of the stand and seat? This would be the longest length of the hybrid stand.

@Maverick1 is this what you’re asking for?
Almost. What is the dimension with the seat flat? (In the non “meat shelf” configuration). Those pictures have the seat at 90 degrees to the platform. (Perpendicular). My poorly worded question is what is the dimension/length with the seat parallel (or flat) to the platform. Asking because I am looking at carrying options and thinking of sliding the Ranger hybrid into a sleeve (like a MR popup or Kifaru Stryker).

I would say roughly 26"

@Pattywhacker - Would it be possible to swap the posts on a ranger and ambush? You’d end up with an ambush post on a ranger platform. Normal sized post with a huge ranger platform.
I have never seen the Ranger in person, although I bought a nice used Ambush over the winter and have tested it on a tree to get a feel for it. The Ranger platform is larger according to LWCG specs and that was one of my first thoughts as well. Cut down on the buik of a post/seat and yield a very large platform. Nice in theory, but I find the room on an Ambush or TL Mission to be sufficient for my size 10 feet and physique. Also the investment in modding two pretty expensive units into one hybrid......:astonished:

First impressions are that I like the stand. I like the shelf that the seat creates when packing in/out. It hasn’t bitten into a tree yet so I can speak to how it cams and bites into the tree. I can tell you I’m not a huge fan of the pin that locks the seat in.
Mine bites the tree like no other stand or platform I've ever had. And I really like the fact there are no cables

Once I got things figured out, it was good. I can carry it up the tree on my back, my pack and bow on pull ropes at the bottom. I put a strap hanger on my stand strap and it made it so easy to hang. The Hybrid doesn't wobble at all with my weight on one side. And the teeth bite like crazy. Like I said before, I love no cables. Sometimes I sat, but mostly stood. The cool thing to me was it gave me options. Shoot leaning in my saddle, shoot sitting on my seat, shoot standing like I'm on a loc on. And the platform size and seat height are great for me.
When going in I wear my saddle, and I bought a CRUZR backpack. It's smaller than my popup and has straps on either side to strap my Skeletors to the pack. I use the seat to carry my strapped in pack. Ranger and 4 sticks are 14 lbs, plus backpack weight. I'm carrying maybe a 20lb setup with backpack, I think.

It just works so well for me. It is my final setup I think. Yall gotta remember I'm in the grandma stage of life. I was looking for less weight to carry and the ability to sit down if needed.

I went through trying steps and ROS for even lighter weight, but they did not work for me AT ALL...lol. Anyone want a Treehopper ROS, let me know. The steps are gone.

It's a good system for me. I was really happy with it all by the end of the season. Oh and I can scout with it all on and I don't even feel it.

You make any mods to it at all? Carrying with waistbelt?

I used the waistband straps on my CRUZR pack for a waist band. They worked well, however, the $9 XOP waist band was too much to pass up. I ordered one today.

I also wrapped spots where I had metal on metal with stealth strips. Haven't painted it. Didn't put a bow holder on it either. The seat cushion worked fine, but you may want additional padding. I quit using knee pads several years ago, so never flipped the cushion to use it that way.

I guess really I did not do alot. But it works.

Believe it or not that the way LWCG puts them on, on their YouTube video. But when I carry they are fine. Check out the video
Missing the opportunity to use the load lifter straps like that. Then again without waist belt they don't do much.
