I got a used Lwcg .5 on the classifieds, and I love it , but the seat is a little small for extended sitting. I decided that I could make a fairly lightweight seat extender to get a couple extra inches without changing things too much. I made it so it straps on with some flanges on the sides to keep it from moving around and making noise Added a pad on top and it works well I need to test it on a long sit to see how it does D6866B41-9D01-45B5-9EB7-3DB95B4D980F.jpeg1104ECAD-6142-4BBF-9945-98D0D4BF8103.jpegEAF70F11-8D06-4BFB-8E7F-F19862F4A91F.jpeg

Looks good. The sling style seat option is the ticket imo.

Can you post dimensions of the extender and somehow illustrate how big is the standing room on the platform when the seat is down? Thinking about LWCG .5 with Large seat, not sure if it's possible to actually stand and shoot with seat down in such configuration.

The seat is 12 inches wide by 8.5 “ deep to the post. That is between the med and large seat from lw. It added 13 oz to the stand. If I had bought new it would have been worth while to just upgrade to the large seat, but new was more money than I wanted to spend. I typically do a hybrid saddle/ with occasional sitting , which the .5 is the perfect size for. For shorter hunts I’ll probably leave the seat addition at home and just lean. Also I took a picture standing on the platform( in my garage) to show foot space. I have size 10 feet and the picture was taken to the back of my legs touching the seat in the down position. I’d have no problems shooting with the seat down, up would allow for even more room @samu 12A7FE23-89B2-4741-AC8C-2CCF6810B995.jpeg

I expect you are correct and the mesh would be the most comfortable option. I can’t help but mess with my gear though. Probably what drew me to saddle hunting.

I totally get it. Sometimes, I think I enjoy the tinkering more than the hunting.

Thank you very much. This is excellent. I have slightly bigger feet and what I want the stand for is late season 0-20F weather and appropriate clothes. Looks like 1.0 would be better with large seat.
