So, coming up to the end of my first season in the Mantis 9 (not nearly as many sits as I would have liked), one thing I have concluded is I like many like to wear the Mantis well below the normal belt line, with the micro adjusters pulled all the way tight. I have a 215 Gear Ultimate riggers belt I purchased as a "backup" to the saddle (OpLux backup tether attached to it), although I find myself feeling it is not needed, getting more comfortable I guess. So thinking I will try wearing the riggers belt at normal belt level, and attaching it to the saddle in such a way when I secure the riggers belt the Mantis sits right where I like it and then can secure the Mantis belt. My questions is, what are my best options to attach it? First thing that came to mind was heavy zip ties (cut off after set to length), strong para-cord, etc.). My thought is what I use to attach the belt is not going to be "weight bearing", so to speak, am I off on this thought process? Any ideas for material and attachment? Thinking maybe someone here has already done this.

look up DanO's Battle Belt thread. He is adding them to his web site in the next few days I believe.

I did this to my sitdrag. It works well. I am still using it as my go to saddle.

They are here.

check out this thread.

Ok looks like what you use to suspend the saddle to the battle belt (riggers belt) is not "life support" weight bearing, just to position your saddle at your preferred height, then tighten the Mantis belt accordingly.

I believe it is If you add a rated buckle, it is for linesman belt. I think dano touches on it somewhere.

I temporarily did this with a 22kN climbing sling. I have been using it "temporarily" for the last 6 months. A square knot and a half and the looped ends are clipped to the carabiner shown clipped to the belt. It looks like the battle belt has the same buckle configuration.
