Milkweed alternatives

I don't think they do make em anymore. I hear people talk about the good ol days and I remember them but don't want to go back to black and white tv's, no ac ,johnny houses, heck i remember my granpaws house had a wire ran in the house that he had to saw a notch in top of screen door so it would close,it went straight over a bent nail and hung over the kitchen table with one light bulb on it.the only electricity he had.Good ol days are now!

This may be a ridiculous question but has anyone every used the seed head on dandelions? There is a mowed field next to my house that is absolutely covered in them.

For many years I've been using a small puff bottle filed with baking soda, turn the tip down and give it a light squeeze. It will not float like milkweed but it will show the wind direction around you. However, I must admit that I really don't worry much about the wind since I started using Scentlock, 5-6 years ago, and following a careful scent control strategy.

Yes, I'm down in Hot Springs. Hwy 70 is full in September. It is more like milkweed in September when it blooms.
