Thanks for sharing these. I wasn't sure if the lid worked on the popup frame or not. Good to know should I run out of room with the 28 I have on the way.Hope this helps. I rolled a set of base layers in the top pouch and a OCP top in the bottom. Bag a has a loose stuffed fanatic jacket.

Nope, lid comes with day pack straps you can see in the first pic. If you were to want to wear it alone for scouting you can do so. Also comes with attachment straps and clip on buckles to attach as a lid. You can find it on MR website. https://www.mysteryranch.com/Accessories/Military-Accessories@Crafty1, where did you get the lid for the 28? Did you have to do any type of alterations to the pack, add straps etc? I want to get a lid for my 28 like I have on my kifaru...but didn't know there was a lid already made. Thanks for any info.

This is a great little review. I bought the 38 and I have the mule bag on the way to swap out on the frame for early season. My two biggest gripes are 1. It doesn't cinch tight when empty, 2. No internal pockets.
The biggest selling point is versatility. I can navigate brush, use it as a treestand pack, and swap bags. Though, the idea of getting a Pintler or Sawtooth is growing on me.
I have the 28 and you can take the top and bottom straps and contact them across the pack to tighten it more.

I stuffed a throw pillow from my couch in the pack and that loose space filled up fast. So, I am not worried about it in actual use. Running the straps also works but I will say it is not going to be as tight as some will want unless it is fully filled and the load lifters are engaged.I'm thinking about getting one as well but gripes about it being very loose when empty (there's a few reviews on MR describing it) has me a bit worried. Someone mentioned that you can just run straps across to another side to cinch it. Can you try it and see if if fixes the cinching problem?
Thanks
