As some of you know from another thread, I ordered some rope from Treestuff.com back on October 19th. When I ordered the rope I requested and paid an extra $15 to have a 5 inch sewn eye. It took about a week or so and I heard nothing so I called and they said the splicing guys had been backed up but it should go out in the next day or so. The call was on a Thursday and the following Monday or Tuesday I got a shipping notice.

The box showed up a couple of days later and I opened it and discovered it had a sewn eye but the eye was so small I couldn't even get the tag end of the 9mm rope to go in it! I wasn't going to pursue it with them, but some of you told me how great their customer service was, so I called them. I talked to a girl named Ash and she had me send her some pictures. She quickly emailed me back and said this shouldn't have happened and she was shipping me a new rope with the correct eye and I could keep the rope they had already sent. That sounded great to me and I was happy with how quickly she resolved the situation. I honestly was expecting them to have me send the original rope back for them to fix and/or have them refund the sewn eye fee and I could just put a knot in and call it a day.

Oh well, a few days later a box shows up and I'm excited to finally have my new rope with the correct eye. I open the box and this rope is the exact same as the other! I'm not mad, I've got 90 feet of rope for the price of 45 but I do email Ash and let her know that this rope was the same as he first. She responded that she was going to get to the bottom of this and I would hear from her in a few days.

I got a shipping notice the next day and an email from Ash that they were trying again to get this right. I'm honestly feeling bad for them at this point. I don't need 150 feet of rope and I honestly expected the 3rd one to be the same as the first two.

Well I got my third box today and low and behold it has the correct eye!

So the moral of the story is Treestuff.com may make a few mistakes every now and then, BUT they have EXCEPTIONAL customer service and they will do whatever is needed to make it right. I would not hesitate to place another order with them. Thanks to those of you who suggested I reach out to them. I honestly probably would have just let it go and picked a different vendor the next time had you not prodded me to reach out to them.

I’m currently waiting for their customer service to callback today with info for me.

Placed an order 2 weeks ago (Friday) but they had to get with splicers to get me an exact price (Monday).

It’s been 2 wks and when I called yesterday I found out that my order doesn’t even exist & only the girl that I originally talked to may know anything about it but she wasn’t available to talk to.

Needed to get this figured out yesterday but now I guess she’ll call today while I’m up a tree and can’t answer my phone.

This is the exact thing that happened to me, but the rope was backordered one of the times so it took like 3 months to get my correct order.

Took me just shy of a month. Apparently they have some issues in their splicing department. ;-)

Yeah, they said the splices are off site now that they were bought out, so they are having issues with special orders.

Guys I would make sure to really look over and put that eye through a pretty tough test before I’d hang from it!

Bowhuntr09 would you like to sell some of that rope?

My experience; in-stock product was really backordered and the system showed shipped when it was not. Their CSR's will go the extra mile which is what saves them IMO. Truth is though the CSR's are that way because they are making up for the shortcomings of their their processes internally. I will give them another chance in the future, could be they are just going through growing pains and need time to get it together.

For anyone looking to buy from them, my advice is to call to confirm inventory before ordering. I would trust them to make it right no matter what at the end of the day.

The rope I ordered was Sterling HTP 9mm. I agree with you on testing it thoroughly. The way its sewn and covered I can't really see what they did. I can see just a glimpse of some red thread under the thick plastic seal they put on.

I am going to hang onto this extra rope for now, but I may decide to sell it later.

The rope in that picture doesn’t appear to be spliced. Is it? Bowhuntr09 that is a really nice pedicure you have there!

Just for clarification, when I got notice the rope had been delivered, I had my daughter open the box and send me a pic. I have never had a pedicure or a manicure, but I'n now not so sure @GCTerpfan can say the same since he was so quick to point out the error. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

The funny thing is I know the difference not because of my wife or daughter but, because of my father-in-law. He and his buddies go on a golfing trip every year. One year when leaving the course, after what I have to assume was too many beers, they decided to stop at a pedicure place as a joke. It became their yearly tradition, documented with pictures sent back to their wives.

But, considering when you see me post about "my 100 acres" I am actually referring to property he purchased and has given me free use and control of, I fully support anything he wants to do it his feet.
