I made a gear hanger yeah lol. I never could get my old Kenmore machine to pick up the thread from the bottom bobbin so I borrowed a sewing machine from my mother in law and made this. I was surprised how much work it is cutting and burning all the threads after the sewing was done. Does yalls look like this on the back after sewing? I ordered the strap off amazon from strapworks.

Thanks. I’m waiting on my g hook to finish it up. I’m enjoying the sewing machine. I’m about to attempt to hem some of my pants lol.

I did cut them. That’s what I was talking about. It took a little while to cut and burn them all. Just making sure that was the typical process and I wasn’t doing something wrong. Thanks

I use a soldering iron. Cut and melt at the same time.

Gotcha. I assumed that was the part you were asking about then you asked if it looked right.

Burning the loose threads is totally not necessary. More cosmetic than anything. But you can save some time by just flashing each seam with a small propane torch. That higher heat will instantly melt off those tag ends.

Your down the rabbit hole now! Next thing you know you'll be thread injecting a random pouch for your 6th DIY saddle at 2 AM wishing you had more thread and Carl Kossuth's cell phone number for sewing advice. The workers at Joann's fabrics will know your name and you will be scavenging traps, buckles and material from everything in your garage for your next project. Welcome to the madness !

When you buy your thread like this you don’t run out at 2 am.

That’s a big spool right there. If I stayed up until 2a.m. It would take me two or three days to recover lol.
