You were buying your first compound bow the year I was born. I would love to get to meet you at saddlepalooza and here the stories you have to share!

I really appreciate the positive response on this thread. Thank you.

I have kept detailed written recordings of all my hunts since day one. I encourage everyone to take the time to record your hunts. One is only limited by their imagination for what all can be recorded. I have pictures of every deer and turkey that I've killed with the exception of maybe.... a half a dozen and a story written for everyone. Also, I've been videoing my hunts since 1991 and have a "Season DVD" of every deer and turkey season since then. Without all of this, with the passing of so much time, I wouldn't be able to remember all of my hunting experiences. But, with them, it's like they were only yesterday.

If anyone is interested in some of my stories, they can be read at this link. http://www.outdoorcore.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=45

Or, you can Goggle, The Womack Journals at Outoorcore.com.

I don't have near as many kills as you but I have been keeping record since my first one and have most on video and pictures of them all as well. I love looking back years later and reliving the hunt! I hope I am still going strong at your age! I definitely enjoy your posts on here.

Glad to see your still after them. I have only hunted 3 mornings this year. Work has me tied up. I’ll be making a road trip mid December and again in January. You need to drive me for about 10 hours. I still get a kick out of our video.

This is the version of the prussik that I ran across the other day that yours reminding me off: http://www.animatedknots.com/purcell/ Good stuff!
Red, it's just a prusik knot with the main line rope run through it. It anchors on loops that I did running splices on. I made it just long enough to work for the largest tree that I can hang my stand on. With it as short as possible it's also perfect for the smallest tree that I can hang on. When not in use it's very light and compact on my belt. With it draped over the attached limb saw I hardly know it there.

Here's some better pictures.

Glad to hear you got it in and enjoying it while working out the bugs. Gonna have to start making hash marks on the kestrel as you lay them down. Post a pic of your bow. I’m sure the guys here will get a kick out of the hash marks.

What is the difference between the prussic knot and bakers knot. I heard bakers is more easier to loosen? Prussics can be horrible. Would a ropeman work?

I have a ropeman on my linesmans belt but how you setup it with tether. Any pics?

Sorry you haven't been able to hunt as much as I know that you would like too. I'm sure that you will make up for loss time on those two road trips.

By invitation, I made a three day hunt in Alabama in early November. When I got home my wife said, that was my last trip away from home. lol

I'll never forget that hunt with you. Had a great time going, being there, and coming back. First class all the way.
