Just finished my one stick build. Pretty proud of it really. Tried it at ground level and it is rock solid and awesome. Not throwing my sets of sticks, platform or even my .5 stand away but this will be fun to play with throughout the season.
Components:
- Novix mini stick post- full 17” length
- Beast standoffs
- Beast delrin button (avoided cam cleat on purpose- just don’t trust them)
- EWO Double step
- EWO 18” wire aider
- EWO wire rope handle
- OOAL straight Scout platform

Looks great and any EWO parts are a great addition to any stick

Thanks! Totally agree. This one is definitely a mut. Parts from a bunch of company’s all put together.

Looks nice but how will you get the rope off of the button without having to loose some of your height per move?

Thanks. Well I was gonna play with either setting a traditional LW strap slightly looser on the tree and cam the stick down, so that when I pull the stick up it will hopefully have enough slack to detach one side and keep going with it.

I also have a longer AmSteel rope with a loop on one end. Will basically put the end loop on the button, put rope around the tree and then wrap the rope around the button a few times, then put the remainder of the rope back around the tree again then bring the loose end back to the button to wrap around the button a second time. So basically the rope will be around the tree and fastened to the stick 2 times. (Didn’t seem to want to hold well only looping everything around only 1 time.) Then the tag end of the rope has a bungee loop on it and I’ll basically just hang that on the scout step. When I get up the stick and lean over to retrieve the stick, I’ll just take the bungee end off the step and pull the rope off the button and from around the tree and hopefully it should basically unravel itself from there. At least that’s what it did when I tried it on the light pole outside. Sounds way complicated but if you saw it in a video or something it would make more sense and now sound so cumbersome I don’t think.

Decided to change out the stick part of my one stick build. I like it even more now. It’s now an EWO camo dipped stick. Love the looks and it actually flexes less now than it did before, and it was extremely minimal before too.

All Steps were hand made using a Hacksaw and drill bits. The smallest one was made from a piece of 6061 5X5 angle iron also made by hand with Hacksaw, drill bits and files. The larger one was made using a Shop Rider Platform . I used 1.250 sq 6061 tubes and large Schaffer Cam Cleats I like thing heavy duty it just makes me feel more comfortable. And yes I switch back and fourth the small one for short sits and the Shop Rider for longer sits ,it has more space to stand on.

Awesome. That’s pretty cool. I like heavy duty stuff too for the same reasons.
