Mystery Ranch on camo fire

Has anyone found a lower profile belt that seems to work with this? Something not as bulky

I can pull my Duplex belt as another point of reference for improving the pack,

Did you ever try your Duplex belt on the Pop up? The curved belt of the pop up has been a minor annoyance of mine. I’ve considered replacing it with a Duplex belt but I’ve never seen one in person. The Duplex belt is obviously wider but is it structured like the pop up belt? Would it lay flat when laying the pack on the ground?

I had a PopUp 18 until my son decided he liked it better than I did, lol. The material is stiff when knee, but with some use it softens and quiets down nicely.

I’ve switched to an Alps Outdoorz Elite 1800. Supposedly the same size, but the Elite has way more room. You can also buy the 3800 pack (which I did)and simply swap it out when you need more room (which I will next week).

I’ve packed out 2 deer with it this season and I like it better than the MR PU18.

I haven't.

I have an Exo belt arriving tomorrow, but I quite like the Seek Outside belt on it,

I'd say the Duplex has some slight curve to the foam padding, but it isn't going to spring like the MR belt. It's those darn wings in the MR design. I suppose they are intended to spread weight across a greater width of the lumbar? Idk. I'm enjoying the pack without them.

got ya. The other reason I was considering the Duplex belt is I carry two pouches on my hip belt to keep tether, gear hanger, etc. the pals webbing is so far back in the MR belt it’s hard to reach the pouches. TheDuplex belt would let me move the pouches forward, I think.

Kifaru shines there. I think even the Omni belt (probably won't fit on this pack) is far better than the MR, and has lots of PALS. I really need to add the Kifaru specific gun bearer because of that.

I have a Duplex belt on the way for my PU and just so you know @Plebe I was happy with my Pop Up until you convinced me I wasn't. :tearsofjoy:

:tearsofjoy:Sorry.

I do apologize I haven't found time to try the Duplex belt and give you feedback. Though I do figure it'll be a vast improvement.

I did get the EXO belt in, but haven't had it on the pack either. It seems like it's made of the exact same materials as the Kifaru Duplex belt, but it isn't cupped with a stitched crease and only pulls inline (vice top and bottom). It is really nice and offered at a good price point, but my initial impression is I prefer the Duplex design. Time will tell. As well, the EXO falls short on the MOLLE/PALS arrangement compared to the Duplex if you want to run pouches and accessories. However, it is a bit trimmer, which is nice I suppose. But it's not very significantly so.

The Seek Outside belt is even slighter. It seems a bit costly for what it is, materials wise, the others feeling more hearty there. But it is very comfortable under medium loads and is the most daypack like. The 4 way adjustment really lets you dial it in.

I think the Popup with any of them is going to outperform the stock pack by a large margin. I'm liking this pack now that I've some of these belt options in hand. It really is a compact frame pack. I have a 22" Kuiu frame and it seems much bigger in comparison, even though MR lists 22" height. You can drop a .5 in the shelf and load it up with cold weather gear and then unload it and hunt without straps hanging from the bottom of your stand. Platform and sticks no problem.

But I do find the Duplex Lite overall more accommodating, but certainly bulkier.
