It will not fit in the kangaroo pouch however it will strap nicely in the same place. The pack has 2 straps in that area and two on the bottom of the pack which is where I keep my one stick.
I can reach around and take my stick off the pack at the base of the tree with out taking my pack off. Once I get to height I hang my bag then set my platform. With the UP on top of my stick I only use my platform if I am going to sit for more than 3-4 hrs or if the deer could come from any direction.
I have no problem with the camo in real life, I started out with the tan one however it looked too much like a deer to me which could be a problem during rifle season.
I really like this pack for saddle hunting. I find the pockets well placed and usable, I like the way it stays open in the tree. I do not pack out my animals.
