Need a lighter platform

I have pretty much all of the platforms listed above and I should mention that I almost ALWAYS use a ROS with them...
Not only for getting around the tree, but for comfort as well. If I start getting sore somewhere I can switch positions on the steps or platform to alleviate the pain.
Also, if the wind switches I just turn to watch a different direction. A ROS is a must for me!

How well does the pursuit platform lock to the tree with steps attached to the same OCB?

It holds nice and tight with my 240# pushing off the front corner of it with three bullman platform steps on the same strap

i would start with better shoes...then i would look at the angle you have your platform at....then i would look at a new platform....i get the weight thing though i hate big heavy platforms....i went with the arsenal RZR less than 3 lbs and plent of room
Are you happy with your RZR? I'm very close to pulling the trigger but hesitate because there isn't anything "wrong" with my predator but I see advantages to the RZR... Any drawbacks to the RZR compared to predator? Would you recommend Magnum or regular?

Magnum. Foot room is tight and I’m a size 11 boot. Unless being able to stand/turn isn’t something that’s important to you. Otherwise it’s an awesome platform

What do we need?

A properly designed carbon fiber platform!

When do we want it?

By next season! (please, if you can manage that, if not, that's cool too)

Your ears and hands will. The sound that **** makes against the tree is horrendous.

Your feet will feel that bend and twist.
Do you need a hug? :tearsofjoy: it's deer season, cheer up a little!

my suggestion would be to go hybrid. pick up a lwcg 0.5 or other lightweight lock on. big platform (relatively speaking) and you can alternate sitting/standing.

Great feedback, thank you guys. While not the platform I want per say, I did manage to locate a used EDP. Smaller and lighter than my Mission, but no angle to it. Solves the weight issue, but not necessarily the foot pain issue. Although, I don't even know for sure if a Seeker or an Onyx would make any difference in the foot pain anyway.. never used either one. The angled edge just seems like it may help some but I really don't know.
Angled edges really make a big difference!

I have the regular seeker and would recommend it. The angled front part is no joke, it really does make it very comfortable for your feet when leaning, the angle seems just right. And without adjustment you can stand on a flat level surface. It is JUST big enough to stand on and not really move around but stand and exist in case you just want to or make a shot with your bow or something. I had thought of the mini seeker but don't think the tiny bit less weight would be worth loosing the ability to stand on my platform if I need to. I wear size 10 boots.

Not sure if I posted an update to this, but I ended up buying a mini seeker. I've been out with it 3 or 4 times and so far I'm loving it. Super light, and the angled front really does make a big difference. I also picked up some rigid arch insoles, like steel shanks, for my boots, which also make a pretty good improvement as well. Those 2 things combined have made things much better for my feet. My knee hurts no matter what, so I just have to live with that.
As for the JX3, I have one! I bought it a couple months ago and have practiced with it in the yard. Super comfortable! I haven't taken it hunting yet because I've been trying to nail down my mobile set up, but now that I've got that pretty much set, I can do some hunts out of the JX3. I've already got 3 pre-set climbing sticks set up in some good spots, so I've just gotta get my butt out there with it. One thing I need to work out with the JX3 is my gear/pack. I know I can rig up a pack inside the saddle, but I don't really own one that would work well for that. I have an old Cabelas fanny pack that is pretty big so I may try that, but it isn't quite big enough. I like the JX3 packs they sell but I've spent enough money on hunting stuff this year! Gonna have to find something that works though.

I too use a ring of steps but not to stand on. I went from a Cruzr Seeker to the TL EDP and it has that awesome bite like the Mission but about 2# less weight. I assumed when I first started I'd want a lot of platform room and as I got accustomed I realized I liked a smaller platform. It bites better to me and takes side pressure better. At least it does in my head. I have a cheap set of Hawk ROS and I only have two of the steps on so not much weight. I place one at 3:00 and one at 9:00 like motorcycle highway pegs and I'm a sitter and will put my feet/ankles on them like hwy pegs.

I'm more comfortable sitting but I've noticed my "comfort" seated position puts knees in front of toes and if my feet are on the platform my ankles are bent forward and they get sore, so the hwy pegs alleviate that. Conversely if I stand I tend to lock my knees and bend the ankles backwards.
