Need suggestions for WARM but thin/light clothing

your leg straps do nothing for you. totally safe to not even than them on
Have you ever had a two panel saddle nearly drop to the back of your knees? Leg straps serve a purpose whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.

I have some polartec fleece, what is the Alpha 90 stuff?
Best way I can describe it is like a loose, shaggy weave of a fleece-yarn type fabric. For active, truly breathable insulation it comes closer to wool than anything I've found, at significantly less weight/bulk. Next to skin it feels great. Sort of mesh-like so it's breathable. Dries fast.

The ultralight thru-hiking gear junkies love or at least loved it. They are sort of the gold standard of gear obsession and if you follow they set the trends the Sitkas et. al adopt, a few years in advance. But they have the collective attention span of a puppy so you have to keep up. So much like saddlehunters.

I have a couple pieces from Outdoor Research. I don't know of any hunting-centered companies that have adopted it. But I don't keep up on the latest and greatest gear anymore.

people take them off. they serve no purpose you didn't do your belt right if your saddle went to your knees.

My Alpha 90 top and bottom weigh under 8 oz combined. Both have zippers too (half zip top/knee zip bottoms). Outperforms Kuiu 97 in warmth and it's lighter.

Gulch gear mKe

Gulch Gear makes a vest with a heavier alpha. I have it and love it. Wish they made more pieces like that.

ScentLok sales/close-outs offer incredible value. One thing I love about it is you just toss it in the dryer, unless it’s really gotten soiled.

Sounds like we had the same weather.
+1 for quality of SL clothing and their after-season sales. Plus, I think you get 20% discount when you sign up for their newsletters.

Ever piece of external camo I own, that isn't rain gear is Scent Lock.

I run cold too. If it's in the 50s, I'm in my Fanatic jacket. I have the Fanatic hoody and man was I disappointed. It's good for 65* or so only.

Kuiu Proxmity is excellent for 50s, but not very durable.

Sitka used to make the Equinox zip up jacket. Like an idiot, I sold it. That was perfect for cool 50s

This is what it looks like @gcr0003 . This is probably my favorite overall jacket. Very versatile midlayer.

This pullover is almost just as good as polartec....but much cheaper

Both of those linked are really lightweight and warm

The French shirt is really good for layering cause it is very form fitting but not constrictive

Ooooo scentlok has my preferred camo - realtree edge.

Is the realtree edge stuff with scentlok that is sold at Walmart imitation or lower quality? I've got a couple pieces of that.

BT

Hard for me to say. The way Walmart does online sales, you can buy just about anything. When I hit “in-store” I see some scent control clothing that is not ScentLok brand. Not sure if there is any actual real ScentLok brand goods at Walmart retailers, or not.

I just shop the online sales direct from ScentLok.
