Needing some binoculars for hunting. What would you suggest?

I highly recommend going in and checking them out in the store. I have been searching lately for a mid range pair ($900-1200).

I looked at the ones just below this price range. The one that worked the best for me were the Zeiss Terra 10x42. I could not see anything out of the Nikon's (monarch 5). The Vortex (viper hd) were ok. The Leupold bx4 pro guide were great. Out of this group, I would have bought the Zeiss.

I am still trying to find a Meopta to look at as well.

You need to try them in person though. Each person's eyes are little different and binos have to fit you perfectly or you won't be happy.

The meoptas are amazing, be sure to try out the Czech made ones, they are the best. If you can find a used pair of cabelas euro hd binos from a couple of years ago they were made by Meopta Czech.

According to Cabela's website, they still are. Stopping there later tonight

Just a quick update.... The Cabela's brand were made by Meopta but they didn't fit my eyes right. I'm pretty certain the Zeiss Conquest I tried were broken as they were much worse than the Zeiss Terra I tried. The Vortex Razors were the winner for me with the Leica Trivonid just a hair worse. They didn't have the Leupold Santiums to try.

Anyone have any Mavens? I'm thinking of checking out the test option they have prior to purchase.
