New Aerohunter saddle

Yeah, I'm not worried about it. I tried to Google hunter's that have been shot wearing Predator Fall Grey. Good luck on finding one incident and that pattern has been around for 20 years.
If I was that worried about being shot, I'd just stay home! Either the risk is exaggerated, or the folks telling the stories need to just move.

Kinda like I told the guy who had been burglarized 3 time in one year. He came to my gun counter looking for a pistol. I told him to save his money, break his lease, and live somewhere he didn't have to deal with that mess.

Im looking through the woods now and I see small white blotches everywhere. Fungus on trees, tree bark, honey suckle, patches of sunlight shining down. I'll buy predator camo. Heck, I'm white and don't wear facepaint! lol
I don't know that I've ever met a really, truly, white cajun. :tonguewink:

But yeah, as long as you're not waving it around and stompin' and snortin' I think white is fine.

Why do you think some guys hunt with AR's? lots of targets to frame in that red dot, one of 'em gotta be a deer right?

Are you saying that you have a problem with me driving to my tripod feeder, rolling my window down, hitting the high-beams, and pew-pewing indiscriminately at whatever starts running with my AR?!

Sheesh, what a killjoy. ;)

Kidding aside, good tactical rig are hands down my favorite guns to carry snow tracking. Light, fast, and tough as nails.

Exactly, I hunt with my AR's mainly for ergonomics. They are the most comfortable to carry and shoulder and just plain fun to shoot.

Rope will be tie with bulky knots unless it’s spliced. Rope will be stiffer so it will not pack as well as webbing. Rope usually is ruffer sliding in the carabiner as you twist. If it’s amsteel rope, then it will be spliced, so no bulky knots. It also packs really well and is lighter than rope. Amsteel is also very slick and smooth. Webbing loops can either be stitched or knotted. It’s knots will be smaller than rope knots. Packs really well and is smooth in the carabiner. Very strong and more wear resistant than amsteel.
Thank you!

I built an ar in 300 blackout that my son deer hunts with. It’s a great platform for hunting and it’s the only rifle I have that fits both of us. I shoot with the stock fully extended. It goes in two clicks for him. Neither of us have to search to get a full view through the scope. Can’t do that with a regular bolt action. It shoots about 2” groups at a hundred yards which isn’t great but plenty accurate for the yardage limitations of the round. I’m pretty happy with it but wish I had went with an ultralight build. I may still if I decide to purchase a suppressor. For the price of a tax stamp I can purchase another saddle instead.

Interesting. Guess they just dont do it for me. A good bolt gun has always been fast enough, and in the thickets a remmy 760 pump in 35 whelen or winchester lever gun is as fast as you can reaquire the target. Not saying they arent cool, maybe on a ranch for predator control or such. just a weird choice for the woods to me, but hey, what ever does it for ya :) to each their own right?

Those are good guns. That is how I rolled before switching to tactical carry. The old guns will always have the nostalgia

Wow, from new saddle product discussion to why fall grey is a death trap, and now onto tactical AR rigs . . . . . . Lol.

I ordered a Flex. Im 5-9 and about 165lbs. I have had my M mantis for about 3-4 weeks. I have been tryi g it out and like it a lot. I will say the one thing that i have noticed is it tends to get a little man-kini-ish when i do anything other than lean, which sometimes requires a bit of adjustment (pulling it down periodically).

After reading the saddle shootout i was interested in trying a kestrel or kite size 1, and possibly size 2. Many many folks recommend size 2 no matter what your size it seems. So yesterday i ordered a Flex in size 2. After thinking about how the Flex can expand, i wondered with me already being on the lower end of size 1, coupled with the fact the Flex expands, maybe i made the wrong choice.

So i called Aerohunter and chatted with Debbie for a couple minutes. She agreed that the 2 would likely be ok, the 1 would probably be a better choice. She said some folks in the 35-37in waist range that had been giving feedback that a 2 was a better fit than the recommended 1. She felt the Flex size 1 would not accommodate these individuals better than the previous size 1, so this confirmed that me being 32in waist would probably be better suited in the size 1.

Alright guys let's keep this thread on topic. If you want to talk AR's start a new thread :)
My bad but it’s not our fault you have to fill out a 4473 to buy a BB gun :) But back to the topic. I think it will be a great saddle. I know @huck72412 is batting for the other team but it’s probably the closest modern saddle to his leather trophyline he endears so much. If their expected shipping time is accurate we should have a lot more to talk about in a couple weeks.

Thanks for the update. I was curious about this after listening to Boswell on the podcast this morning. I would be in between sizes. I'm running a 34 - 36 waist depending on how many donuts I eat.

There was a guy locally that was shot in his treestand because some dipstick thought he was a roosted turkey. Doesn’t matter what you wear some idiots just shouldn’t be able to purchase a hunting license. I wear all Predator camo patterns including Fall Grey and will continue to use it. A little pattern on a saddle is nothing. Not like your walking around with an extended white flag on your backside. If it bothers you that much pack your saddle in and put on at the tree.

If anything white moves in the timber I would think a deer would notice it
