That Dan O is one awesome dude!!!!

DCA custom arrows released mini sabres. .465 tall, 2.0 long 6 grains. Same price as the regular ones, it does look like 10%off new email subscribers if you buy direct.

I don't think these have been mentioned. Looks like they launched in January. Interesting modular system with 3 fixed heads ( 100/125/150 gr) and 3 mechs that all use the same ferrule. Lusk has at least a few videos reviewing them.

Yup, I bought some because I'm a sucker for broadheads

I bought a second JX3 Hybrid, another Cruzr XC saddle, and a trophy line mission platform. Also, I bought a Mathews switchback XT and changed the wheel, cam, and limbs on the bow. Pretty much a new bow, and it shoots like a dream.

I like the click on my hinge, but there is absolutely no point on a thumb release to have that.
Have you looked into why they designed it? There is a point. At a minimum it will ensure consistent preload. For me a click eases my nerves but I shoot clicks the way Joel Turner recommends. So my shot activation starts at the click, not before. Its allow me to execute the shot by adding pressure to the thumb barrel instead of having to pull/relax my hand which I'm finding to be way more consistent and accurate. For me it is no more likely to result in target panic than any other release is.

I have a button release also, I wouldn’t want the thumb button to have a lot of travel click and then release. I understand it’s a similar concept to a hinge but it is different. And by preload they mean pressure on the button before release…I guess if you have target panic and are slamming the button this could possibly help you.

Thats not really how your supposed to use the click. You would very quickly move to the click, then from the click I start slow, consistent pressure. Essentially me getting to the click is like taking the gun off safety- it's what starts my shot activation, not a signal that its about to break

You don't have to have target panic to have issues with preload. I've never had issues just slapping a thumb button. But I have had issues starting with inconsistent pressure which leads to in consistent shots.

So if you very quickly move to the click it signifies to start your shot process. My click is after my shot process starts because the action of tightening my shoulder blades and shifting pressure is already started. when the click happens all I have to focus on is the target and doof my arrow is headed there. Sounds very similar to what you said except your click is far before the arrow releases and you're pushing the button with your finger vs using a hinge.(or however you do your shot process).

I’m just curious is the click adjustable in relation to release?

I wouldnt say its far before the arrow releases. I roll the hinge/push the button to the click after I aim. So pre click im focused on getting my aim, post click im focused on my shot activation movement. Using the click this way helps guide my conscious mind to where it needs to be.

If you've ever listened to Joel Turner its how he suggests using one - he does a better job of explaining it.

So the release is adjustable for tension & travel.

The travel adjustment effects how long it takes to get to the click.

The tension adjustment has the felt effect of increasing the distance between the click and the fire. The way they designed the sear in this release there is a natural increase in the tension required after you get to the click, which is why increasing the overall tension makes it feel as though there is more travel post click. Sounds a little weird, but I actually really like it. Helps keep my honest/focused in the shot.
