New Guy

I live in Toledo OH. Used to live in Ottawa Lake, MI. That would be great. Thanks for the offer.

I'm new here as well and just learning about different options, both for slings and climbing methods. Great site. I stayed up all night reading stuff. I'm going to pay for it today.

Since I have some of the same questions as UMICH1, can someone explain to me what a SitDrag is?

SitDrag is a sling seat made to be used at ground level as an alternative to sitting on the ground. With some mods and tether made of climbing grade stuff it makes a very nice, lightweight saddle. You can set them up to weigh under a pound or you can add some pouches, maybe a pad and it will weight 2-4lbs depending on what you add. Mine is 3.5lbs but that is including all my ropes and carabiners in a pouch and a self-retracting pull-up rope. I simply wear it around my waist while walking in and when I get to my tree I just hook my linemans belt around the tree and start climbing.

So SitDrag is a brand name. Cool. I'll have to look them up. Are they set up for hunting or do I need to know what I'm doing with ropes and knots etc. to set it up?

As @flinginairos stated, it's setup to hunt but rated for ground level. Most everyone modifies theirs to use at heights. Mine is in the shop waiting to be upgraded. You will want to learn ropes and knots and such and there is tons of info on this site.
@g2outdoors has a great video to get the jist of it. Search Sitdrag on here and prepare yourself to read!
