Looks like a lone wolf copy with the same crappy seat. Nothing beats a m7 microlite

I don't see any comments here as "poopooing" hunting or the stand. Many are merely stating their observations and opinions of it. Which,...."Newsflash",...you are a member of a public forum. Where opinions are to be freely expressed within the bounds of the forums rules. Thanks for sharing yours.

Yes, quite aware of all of the aforementioned, as well as have some background in economics/marketing. Anyone else who also does, likely realizes, as I do, there will be a limited market audience at this price point. I also have no doubt that the stand had to be priced at this level in order for there to be any reasonable profit margin. If LWCG inventory was a sell out this season, I don't think you would have seen $100 gift certificates for $500 purchase around Christmas time. There will likely be another ~3lbs less stand to take its place in different form or function within a few months time, and another after that. Its the nature of this business.

If I were to make my own prediction, this stand will likely have a limited run and for some become coveted piece like the LW Assassin. So, if you like what you see, as well as the price, buy it.

I see lots of poopooing. If someone were to say "I don't see the value in a platform machined out of a solid billet, because I weigh 140lbs, and I'm 5'7, and the old locon windwalker is plenty strong. That price is ridiculous for me." - that's an opinion. "600.00 - no way, I'm out." is just signaling whining poopooing.

If someone were to say "I don't see the value in a sub 10lb stand that's 16" wide and 30" deep, because I'm 6'4, 280lbs, but never walk farther than a quarter mile to hunt. The available 20" and 22" wide stands function well or better for me, and I understand that shaving 2-3lbs for me is easier done by just taking a crap in the morning before hunting." - That's an opinion. "no innovation here, way more money than the lwcg, I'm out." is just signaling whining and poopooing.

You are correct that it's a "niche" product. But every product is a niche product. Some fill bigger niches than others. What doesn't get talked about, is how a new design like this drives further innovation, and opens up possibilities even the designer hadn't considered or implemented. Supply creates demand on occasion.

I'll disagree with you on the lwcg offering a discount. I don't think it's got anything to do with sales being under what they projected. I think they saw the initial whining and poopooing, get turned around by actual use and happy customers. They noticed the trend, and decided to push the tide with the discount, knowing some competition is on the way. That of course, is an opinion.

There s a YouTuber "Michigan outdoors" I believe he uses a similar rod to hold his beast sticks together you may wanna have a look

It isn't your job to fix other people or guide the tone of conversations that do not really negatively affect you and that are optional (you are free to ignore others, etc). People are just shooting the sh!t and you don't like it.

I didn't watch the entire video, but do they talk about the process of cutting and finishing the stands? To reduce the sharp edges?

The stand looks badass. I like the dimensions and weight. About perfect in my eyes. A .5 but with 6” more inches of platform and a normal seat height at only a pound more.

I am not sure about the stick attachment. I would prefer to have the sticks closer to the stand. I would probably make another threaded rod to hold the sticks together in a bundle and use their one stick attachment bar to carry the sticks flipped up flat against the post.

A bungee cord wrapped around the sticks and hooked into the holes works real good too. I like the idea of turning them sideways rather than as designed too.

Alpha II 11.5 lbs. Echo 11.5 lbs

Wrong...what’s on the lone wolf site right now is the echo. Look at the specs from the old lone wolf alpha 2 it’s 14lbs.

Oh, so the Assault II at 11 lbs is a half pound less than an Echo and Alpha II?

"Old" Alpha II and Echo........same exact platform size, same exact seat size, same exact seat post. Where did this 3 lbs magically disappear?

lone wolf lightened it up a couple of years ago. They removed the circular strap down points. The echo just rebranded that same stand. They rated it bare instead of ready to hunt. Like it was. It’s close to 12lbs.

they are about 1.5lbs different. They are rating them bare instead of ready to hunt now.

The best part of all this bickering, 90% of the people on here actually suck at hunting and are Just worried about gear lol

oh my what hunting has come to lol

??? Really

Not a fan of the stick attachment. Jutting the sticks out like that will feel heavier than having them close to the stand.

I think that's the biggest glaring issue with the system. Should pack better if you're going to potentially have $1K invested.

Yeah I never thought a thread about a TREE STAND would go this far on a saddle hunting forum. Lots of gear junkies. I've discovered that about myself and I'm not nearly as bad as some people.

??? Really

look at forums, social media etc. everyone is so worried about saving an ounce or having the ultimate mobile set up. Then they go out and shoot a 100’ buck or nothing at all.

If people would spend have the time on scouting and actually learning to be better hunters as they do in researching and buying gear, they would be better off.

Lone wolf and Novix are going to be the same company soon. They lightened the old Alpha 2 stand by 2.5 pounds and called it the Echo. There isn’t going to be an old Alpha 2 or Assault stand made anymore. That’s why the Assault isn’t available anymore. They did a whole podcast on this awhile ago. Get caught up!
