New Hunting Beast Hang On

Lone wolf and Novix are going to be the same company soon. They lightened the old Alpha 2 stand by 2.5 pounds and called it the Echo. There isn’t going to be an old Alpha 2 or Assault stand made anymore. That’s why the Assault isn’t available anymore. They did a whole podcast on this awhile ago. Get caught up!
The Alpha at 14 lbs was ready to hunt? And the Echo is 11.5 lbs bare? What's the real difference then?

What podcast? I'll give it a listen

What he is trying to say is in order to be consider a good hunter you must be willing to tongue punch Dan’s fart box....I guess

Not what I’m saying at all. I’m saying in order to be a good hunter you have to actually hunt, scout, get in the woods! Not just sit on your phone or computer looking for the “ ultimate” climbing method, carrying system or set up. But apparently that’s what we have come to as archery hunters.

Keep chasing that ultimate set up boys! Someone is always going to come up with something, lighter, faster, more innovative etc.You will just keep buying new gear every year, wasting money and never being satisfied.

Not gonna lie, I fell into that trap for a few years. I’m finally accepting my set up and I’m just going to focus on hunting. Putting my money towards out of state tags and gas.

If only there were as many pages of this thread needed discussing the "innovation" in this stand rather than the price and/or which sticker to put in your truck window.

16 inch wide stand (good) then hook a 24 inch stick on it sideways??? I like the stand, but I'm afraid I would be hitting my elbows on the sticks while walking in. Got to be a better way to attach stix's then sideways.

That’s where they lose me. I like the stand and get the price but I think not coming up with a nicely nested stick system is where they completely missed the mark.

It isn't your job to fix other people or guide the tone of conversations that do not really negatively affect you and that are optional (you are free to ignore others, etc). People are just shooting the sh!t and you don't like it.

The only thing you said above that isn't true, is that I don't like it. But I do enjoy helping steer discourse in a useful manner.

Yep, this. A sideways 24" stick and jutting straight out behind you is the exact opposite you want to pack in sticks........vertical and as flat as possible against the stand. Missed the mark the same way the Beast sticks stacking issues missed the mark.

I tried the .5 a hybrid saddle platform. It didn’t work as well as I hoped. Needed to buy another strap since only comes with the stand and the stand does not handle side pressure at all with 1 strap. I found the cables to be a real pain to deal with and it was tough to get a shot around the back of the tree. I did like the overall design and if I was a 5’-8” with size 10 shoe stand hunter it would be perfect.

I always appreciate your perspective on various products. Honest, thoughtful.

I admit that smaller folks could actually use the .5 as intended and proportionally it’d perform like larger stands do for larger people. My comments were certainly biased towards larger hunters.

But, like I said, I can see folks using these stands their own ways and liking them, and as you point out, or not.

look at forums, social media etc. everyone is so worried about saving an ounce or having the ultimate mobile set up. Then they go out and shoot a 100’ buck or nothing at all.

If people would spend have the time on scouting and actually learning to be better hunters as they do in researching and buying gear, they would be better off.

Some of us need the ultimate mobile setup to shoot a 100’ buck or we’ll end up with nothing at all :)

Please close it redsquirrel. The info and details will be there if anyone wishes to view.
